finished installing the light inside the shed, no joy when I turned it on. Hope it's just a matter of batteries getting charged up.
now headed out to replenish my supply of apples and get some for the happy new owner of my golf cart.
also need to order some wire staples for securing that shed light, not worth driving downtown for a two dollar item and i'm in no rush

Good Morning!!!! 51F @ 8:00AM. Foggy this morning followed by occasional showers during the afternoon. High 62F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

Nice long weekend at the Salton Sea with the Airheads. Towing the bikes across all that desert was nice for a change, especially when traffic snarled in the LA basin and through San Bernardino. The weather was perfect during the day, but maybe a bit chilly overnight. Queen size air mattress seemed to suck the heat out before I layered a regular camping mattress over it. Firewood was well received and appreciated. Bombay Beach was weird as usual, and the burgers were good at the Ski Inn. Best meal of the weekend was taco night on Saturday; almost couldn't stop wolfin' 'em down.

Today is an unpacking day, not sure what else it'll bring.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start.

Appreciation to all Veterans past and present with special thanks to those that gave their all.

70°F and 0 rain

Had a nice home brunch at friends yesterday. Good to catch up.

Nothing planned for today. I’d rate this mornings pain as 1-2, meds must be working.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

next weekend I visit my oldest brother in Middleburg VA where on Sunday I will meet his
son's new wife, the wedding of which I missed while being in CA with RV and not flying.
Will be fun to meet her and spend time with brother.

on Saturday on the way down I was thinking of leaving early and heading first to the PA railroad museum in Strasburg.
I looked at their website and lot of trains there. I'd prefer going Monday on the way home but they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

will be interesting to get in car for a journey instead of rv. Need to drive to Newtown to carwash there later this week, still have a drought here
with resulting frown on washing cars.
.09 rain sure didn't do much

will be interesting to see if mpg improves at all during this trip since just had new spark plugs put in. I doubt it.

Enjoy your evening all.

BIG thank you to all veterans past and present. :)

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 7.3C and it's presently 20.6C, lightly overcast & calm.

Yesterday's Remembrance Day parade/ceremony went very well and there was a large 'turn out' of the public. Quite a noticeable number of Veterans opting to sit in chairs... 'time marches on', eh?

Home by 1145, changed and, after a few things around house, decided to head into the Church to assess the leaking toilet fault. Yes, it was just the rubber gasket and I knew what type/size to buy due to the other toilet block job. Before I left, I remembered that there was another side to this outside toilet structure and, sure enough, it was leaking too!

Short story is that I did purchase the correct fittings/gaskets but I couldn't get them onto the toilets... a quick call to the plumber and he was able to come over and showed me the 'trick' to getting them on. No charge, too.

Meeting went fine and home by 1815.

Wood is being delivered, still. More stacking awaits for this arvo.

That's about it, take care all.

The two ingredient biscuits were good the day after, too.

Wore my new boots for about 4 hours today and they are breaking in nicely.

Got a phone call from my dispatcher this morning asking if I was going to retire. I told him 'NO'. Even with only a license to drive a car I still have a job, if not in Toronto/Oshawa I have one elsewhere within the company. The location to be discussed in May.

LOL They have been asking me every year for the past six years if I’m going to retire, and each time I say “no”. Lately they have been starting to offer me a fair amount of cash to retire, but I still say no.

The running gag amongst my family and friends is “I am going out feet first!”

Meanwhile, I have now reached the ripe old age of 71 whereby the Canadian government requires me to either take my monthly pension or take a lump sum equaling all of my contributions, plus the employer contributions, plus the pension fund investment gains, for the last 40 years. The lump sum is my choice, but I still don’t have to retire since they did away with mandatory retirement here in Ontario quite some time ago.
