If you still don't have some people on your ignore list, you are a better person than I.

I had several on Iggy for awhile but now I don't have anyone on Iggy.

If I can't just ignore a post then it's my fault if I let it get to me.

I’m even okay with personal attacks as long as you have data and are willing to have a discussion about it. If we don’t ruffle feathers or get ours ruffled have we really challenged our own beliefs and reasoning?

The subject at hand isn’t neccessarily hurt feelz. It’s multiple popular threads being closed because a single member gets folks worked up enough they start coloring outside the lines. Unprovoked a lot of those threads would probably still be going just fine.

I firmly believe a lot of the closed threads are because a certain segment of the population likes to hit the report button.

Personally, I think I’ve only hit that button enough that I could count on one hand and that could be even high, as I don’t even remember, ever hitting it!

I know there is one person that tends to take almost anything said to him as a personal attack, and that somebody is trolling him or her!

You are right, that is where I have hit that button when I’ve noticed somebody posting spam advertising as a new member

On sites where I have moderated sometimes there were dozens of Spam bans a day...

Thankfully, TBN has very little in the forum compared to others.

One time banning came with unintended consequences... it was a shared computer at a university study hall... with one stroke dozens banned but the reality proved it was not multiple accounts just multiple individuals sharing the same IP address.

Never have put anyone on ignore on this site, or any of the sports forums I belong to.
That doesn’t mean I don’t get offended by some posters, but I just wonder how it happened they got that obnoxious, and move on.
occasionally, for entertainment, I look forward to their stilted point of view.

So, I read (scanned through) about the first 50 posts, but not past that. I dont like to generally ignore people, because I very well might Agree with them, but sometimes when a post is about "Student Loans" and it becomes 95% political; sometimes I wish you could ignore them in that thread only. Don't want to completely ignore them across the forum, just within that post alone. Don't really need to read about priests behavior in that topic

Student Loans are inexorably tied to the G, so policies will naturally ensue.
