Electric is 14 cents a kw. Not what is cost you but the cost of
producing the power you use from the electric plant

kWh, not kW.

$0.104/kWh here. Cost to me. Delivery included.

Did the State of Texas just kill electric vehicle sales in Texas?

Average Road Taxes yearly for a ICE vehicle is $88 per year.

That’s equal to about 440 gallons of gas. At $0.20 per gallon, the standard car owner in Texas is paying just $88 per year in gas taxes—far less than the hundreds more EV drivers will now be throwing into the pot.

Texas just upped that to $200.00 annually for Electric Vehicles.

Electrical Power Costs is a two factor cost system.

Manufacturing Costs:

1. The cost it cost a manufacture to manufacture a kilowatt of electrical current. This is proprietary information not provided to consumers or the public.

Consumer Costs:

2. The cost it cost us as consumers for each KWH of electricity we use. This cost is arrived at by:

a. Check Your Bill: Review your electricity bill to find the total kWh consumed during the billing period.

b. Divide and Calculate: Divide the total cost by the total kWh consumed to find the cost per kWh.

Actually 3 factor here when the 7.5% Oakland Utility User Tax is added...

We have more factors too... like the Power Charge Inference Adjustment and Franchise Fee Surcharge.

Just opened the latest bill with average daily use of 10.29 kWh... it's worse than I thought!!!

53.24 cents per kWh Peak x 63

44.896 cents Off Peak x 234

The fees and taxes are in ADDITION to the above rate!!!

At 50 cents a kWh it is easy to see why the influx if solar.

Every week someone in the neighborhood is getting or adding and most have plug in vehicles.

Probably also have a fourth.

Hospitals need uninterrupted electrical power 24/7. So that means Generators capable of providing electrical service for critical care equipment and data flow must also be readily available 24/7.

The manager of a Data Center told me one time one of the most expensive things is when he has to generate electrical power to keep the Data Center operational when he loses his primary electrical service. He got to talking about maintaining Electrical Sine Wave parity when his primary electrical service drops out is a huge headache.

He is the one that also told me Federal Regulation are very stringent for Hospitals and Data Centers when it comes to Generators and fuel types.

32 states charge an annual fee for electric vehicles, to offset the loss of gas taxes. Texas joins a number of other states that charge $200 to $211, Washington charges up to $225.

Electric vehicles can be considerably heavier than conventional vehicles.

The chart of utility rates is pretty close for me in Illinois but by the time you add in all the taxes and other fees it’s probably a couple of Pennie’s more.
