Good morning!!!!

Good morning! Low of 59°, heading up to 89°. The guessers are predicting a 60% chance of a t-storm. Saw some lightning last night, storm never reached us.....

The addition, as planned, is a "go". Now need to try to plan around any 'weather guesses'..... so far, I don't have any faith in their guesses....
Not going to cut a hole in the house if it's going to rain... wait---- does it rain here?

Today's agenda is to take a ride with the wifey and Max up to Santa Fe. The family has pitched in for our anniversary and and are getting us Meyers Lemon and Mexican Lime trees from a nursery there. We'll stop for lunch somewhere.....
I can't believe that it will be 40 years together this Saturday......

Need to finish watering 2 zones when we get back. Yesterday's irrigation schedule went ok, except for the one zone that I shut off the timer...... then forgot about switching zones. Flooded out 3 planters and some landscape beds into the driveway. Is that considered a "deep watering"?

Everyone have a great day!
Happy anniversary !
Lemon and lime trees sounds like a fun addition.

I’d have the addition built before opening up the house to it, at least enough to keep weather out. Even if you keep a piece of siding off, but roof on.

Mowed half of field and front of house. Wife mentioned going over Mt to get 1/2 bushel peaches for $30. I txted back let’s go grab lunch somewhere. So I put mower away, got shower, waiting for her. 😂

68°F and .07 inches rain

Will spend the day poolside. Cleaning it. Need to brush down the wall etc. Not one of my favorite chores, my shoulders tend to complain.

Nothing else planned, the pool has priority.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I agree on the lemon and lime trees in your beautiful garden Ted
sounds wonderful and great fun to eat the fruit you grow.

realized the lawn really needed mowing, and then weed eating. A lot of weed eating.
That brought me in worn out.
going to head out now and fly the drone.
first need to drink more water

76F and somewhat cloudy @ 13:45, calling for a high of 78F for the day. Showers and thunderstorms likely later today, maybe around 17:00.

After today's rain, Ten Day calling for an extended warm, dry period for the remainder of the Ten Day. Really looking forward to that and getting some work done outside.

Got another bucket of screened compost hauled down for the northeast planting bed. Compost was pretty wet so did not get it spread out.

After that I started back on the front which still slightly wet causing clumps. Got that pretty much done - except for the path down from the culvert that drains the upper field across the road. That tends to stay a little wetter than the rest of the front. May attempt that here in a little bit.

There was an intrusion into the garden Tuesday night by a deer - probably that fawn Woman saw inside the wires in the west planting bed.

Quite a few strawberry and bean plants nipped ... one tomato plant pretty much completely destroyed ... 🤬

So that required a response.

I put up a 3rd monofilament line on the fence around the garden, just in case the deer was somehow sneaking in between the 2 wires.

Also sprayed the perimeter and all the plants with stink juice and Woman and I put down some deer netting on top of the strawberry plants.

Sprayer quickly clogged but I was able to remove the little plastic filter on the end of the pick up tube and then had no further issues with clogging ... (y)

Also did some work staking up and weeding pepper plants and attaching squash to the cattle panel trellis, Woman harvested a couple of tomatoes while I was doing that.

Had several bowls of the vegetable beef barley soup for dinner, with a piece of cheese Danish for desert. Plus a couple piece of that zucchini bread with melted butter for a midnight snack ... ;)

Went outside for a bit to have a look at the stars before I hit the rack. Clouded up pretty quick after I got out there.

Agenda for the rest of the day:

Dole out the meds which I didn't do yesterday.

Finish mowing the front before rain arrives, probably hit the back and west side while I'm at it.

Get Cub put away over in the barn.

Hope everyone is having a good Thursday ... (y)

That would be the logical approach, and normally what I would do.
The area that the addition is going, has a 2 1/2' deep x 3' wide "bump out" that has to be removed before I can build the floor (over a crawl space). This is also where the door into the addition is going.

And.... it's blocking where the first floor joists need to start. I thought about leaving the first 3 joists out, then remove the bump out and work the joists backward.

I'll have to analyze the issue for a better work around.....

Successful trip to the nursery, lemon and lime trees have a new home.
They got the stock in a couple of weeks ago, only 2 lemon trees were left. Both had a little 'crook' in the trunk about 8" up..... probably why they were left. Wifey always fights for the underdog, so it has "character"..... as the wifey called it.....

It even has a lemon growing on it already.....
