it is very easy to miss posts here when it gets busy

So. . .
about 45 minutes ago, I had a 4” bed of coals going.

I added 5 pieces of firewood.

my air is set at about 7-1/2% open

two minites ago:

flu temp 275F
firebox temp just shy of 300F

will not add any wood until heading to bed.

and it looks like this, because the wood is pyrolizing and it is mainly heating in the catalytic converter, and upstairs it is a balmy 83F, downstairs it is a comfy 72F, and the &$#@ing HVAC has not run in about 30 hours since I fired up the stove after a detail cleaning.

What stove did you get. Maybe I missed your posting about it?

UPDATE:

it is now another 20 minutes later, wood has pyrolized, air is now set at zero% (which really isn’t, it is actually about 2% but that is what the damper scale says) flue temp is 300F, firebox temp is 300F, and it looks like this:

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 9C and it's presently 19.1C. Overcast and fairly calm but no real rain predicted.

A bit of this-n-that whilst in town yesterday; filled the ute with petrol (A$1.98 per litre, but I have a 6cent per ltr. discount card), lunch at a wee café (curried scallop pie), scripts picked up, parcel picked up at the PO. By the time we got home it was time for 'drinkies' (rum & coke). [Looks like I'll need to slip into town tomorrow to pick up another bottle of rum ]

Today I'll trim and mow around the house.

That's about it, take care all.

I have stayed at Campsites in Amarillo. Never noticed the smell. Restaurant has a shuttle service for RV parks to take you to dinner. I never did it. Way to much food.

We ate there on our only trip thru there. I’d go back, was good. You don’t have to order the big one.

We are in the single digits now 2 with an overnight low of 3°F. Cloudy. 60% chance of snow tomorrow then 4" tomorrow night.

Took me awhile to get caught up tonight.
My son is still an hour away, he had several backups on I81 and I just guided him around one in Strasburg. Earlier he detoured thru Salem.
