I thought you talking about the kingpin?
I welded a nut onto mine and used a cheater bar on a socket wrench.

I think this is what you are talking about. There is a snap ring behind the bearing. Looks like if you took a block of wood and place it on the shaft and tap it with a hammer the bearing would come off. See screenshot below. Hope this helps.

Better problem definition is needed.

These may help:

Also if you don't have the service manual there's some in a sticky thread in the Branson section of this site.

Yes I am saying put a piece of wood on the end of the shaft and tap the wood with a hammer. The snap ring should not break. The snap ring would hold the bearing and shaft should go inside the housing. Then you can remove the bearing.

I like the word tap. Lol But tap on the end of the shaft driving it into the housing. See arrow on drawing below.

I believe it should rotate off the ring gear as it goes in. That is why tap is better than pound. Lol

Is there a way you can post a picture of the bearing and shaft? I would not think it would need to move much before the bearing gets free.

You may have to remove the differential case first. I was hoping it would move in enough to free the bearing.

It definitely looks like the outer race is still in there. You may be able to pull it with a slide hammer but catching just the race and not the snap ring will be a challenge.

I agree with that! Wonder what type of oil was used in the front end?
