If I were buying new today, and Branson offers the type tractors where emissions can be deleted, no high pressure fuel rail, and no ECM. That's the brand I'm Buying !!
But I doubt I'll wear out the two I currently have (CX105 Perkins diesel /Kubota MX5100) before my time here has ended.

Let me know what dealer will let you take a tractor home, test it out bush hogging, plow the field, etc, before you buy it . Perhaps they're out there, but I haven't seen one willing to allow someone to do that yet.
You aren't going to be able to demo a tractor on the dealer lot the same as you would at the farm
Kenmac would you prefer to purchase a tractor from a dealer who sold on a farm versus one that sold in the city if they offered the ability to test it out bush hogging, plow the field, etc, before you buy it?

If anyone's getting worked up, it's you. The emotions are yours, not mine.

If anything, today's consumer is more educated by far than any buyer 20 years ago. AlGore was still putting the finishing touches on the internet 20 years ago. Today, we can see ratings, reviews, prices and related costs across a wide range of industries and economies. More information *by far* than you could hope to have 20 years ago.

Folks today can easily look up pricing on all manner of equipment, attachments, and yes, even tractors. More options today, the market is more competitive today because it has to be. More buyers are fully willing to vote with their wallets and say "NOPE" to someone with a stupid price stuck in their head.

The market only supports high used prices if people are willing to pay them. My point. Is that more buyers are saying "oh, h*ll no". And walking away with their wallets.
But nothing sells faster than a good used tractor priced at just under the cost of a new one. In fact we resold our 1 year old L for what we paid for it, no sales taxes in or out

When did you sell it?

''A dealer who sold on a farm'' ?
are there any dealers that sell on a farm ?

I don't know any dealers (not in my area) that are going to let you put hours on a tractor just to see if you going to buy it.

What if there was a dealer that sold on a farm and they let you put hours on a tractor to test it out?

Then how about you share with me and others here your ingenious opinion about these tractor brands and dealers.
I do not have any experiences of owning any other machine but the few I have. I first bought a Kubota l series. Dealer was a great. Machine came nice and shiney and a full tank of fuel. I had problems with the 3 point bouncing about and took it in for service. They could not fix it so they took it back. I then bought a Kioti, dealer was great and been selling tractors since 1938. The service department I don't know too much about cause my machine has never been there .

I could talk good and bad about other makes like a Parrot but that would not be my experience.

efficiency ? Any tractor that uses an ECM to instruct the tractor to regen isn't what I would call efficient
My old MF1250 with mechanical FI took 24-30 gallons of fuel to mow my field. My new Kioti 4510 with ECM uses less than 12.
Why would you not call that "efficient"?

you most likely got the only 45 hp tractor that goes into regen and burns more fuel, that better consumes less fuel than a properly running 34 hp tractor.
At least you're the first I've heard of.

Guy up the road has a MX5800, ECM ,REGEN tractor. My non ECM, regen mx5100 tractor consumes less fuel that his, performing the same task

The single regen I've had occurred while I was mowing my field so I was already running 2,600 RPM. I still burned less than 12 gallons mowing that time even with the regen, which I barely would have noticed except for the light on the dash. I kept hearing so many "boogie man stories" about regens (mostly from people who don't have a Tier 4 tractor) that I was a little apprehensive about buying one. Glad I listened to people who actually own one instead of listening to all the doom and gloom hype.

If anyone else has the courage to step forward to give me their opinion about this I would really be interested in hearing it.
You seem to have taken over this thread. Start your own thread if your looking for opinions..

My Kioti dealer offered me the use of his demonstrator when I was in the market a few years ago.

My case dealer invited me to the corporate proving grounds in Tomahawk, Wi for the day to test drive construction equipment when I was in the market for a CTL a year later.
Why wouldn’t one expect that?

Also, all engines have to meet the same emission standards. A Branson with a low pressure mechanical fuel system and no electronics will have severely compromised performance than a competitor with high pressure common rail and full electronic control.

Branson doesn’t have their own set of laws on combustion and emissions formation on a Diesel engine. They meet the regulations by compromising performance.
