Plans for today...town for critter food, check game cams, watch some football nascar car take the day as it comes.

Enjoy the day all.
Thomas, you're not in full retirement mode until
you start going to the deerfield fair on Thursday
and/or Friday, and leaving the bumper to bumper and
shoulder to shoulder traffic to the weekenders.
I'm only 15 minutes from the fairgrounds but avoid
the area like the plague on fair weekend. We've been
going on Thurs and/or Friday for the last 30 years.

Finally, I am done, done for the season and laid off. Y E SSSS!

Other than the fires and smoke we had to run through in the Northwestern end of the Province the only other thing of note was when I blew one of the retreaded tires clean off the truck. At 65 mph all I felt was a little thump when the axles of the lead trailer went over it. Good thing I was loaded. Stopped 30 miles down the road to inspect the damage and call the tire guy.
For those of you who've never been in Northern Ontario, the shoulders are about 2' wide and soft. Not the place you want to be parking a loaded tanker train. You can ask any of the 'new Canadian' freight haulers, they stop on the shoulder for a P and a tow truck has to get them back on the road. Expensive P.

Roy, you really have your hands full. Keep your sense of humor and keep all the women and critters happy.
are they working on your truck?
Well, tough to keep a sense of humor, but a shot of Jameson's now and then does help!
Had the truck for about a week and a half now...looks good...just like before to accident! Thanks for asking, Drew!

Good evening! 66 now, low of 59 or so tonight.

Was a nice day, some light sprinkles after rain last night.

When I went into work today, I took all of my PPE to go underground. Some people had their hair on fire about delivering a mine machine today. Truck driver put the fire out, said he would deliver tomorrow morning. So off to PA in the morning to do the delivery. Hopefully I am allowed on the property, I got banned 2 years ago after telling the mine manager he “was full of &#!+”. He was, he knew it, everyone else in the room knew it, he just didn’t want to hear it. And none of them were willing to tell him. So this should be interesting.

The race bike I won arrived tonight! Finally

Everyone stay safe out there

Nice bike Rich. Good luck on that delivery.

very cool bike Rich. where are the turn signals? ;)

just finished two hour zoom for church, on how to get our attendance back up.
Have half a dozen families with kids who are worried about doing anything with their
unvaccinated kids. They accept what they have to with kids going to school, relying on
professional supervision, but a church picnic, particularly one inside?
Lot of discussion about which windows to open in our small social hall, moving our six HEPA 13 purifiers into one room,
anything to relieve worry of parents.
A parent would have to live in a cave to not read the stories about young children dying of Covid related disease.
So the worry is clear to all of us. Thankfully we have found zoom meetings to really help parents since they don't have to get
a nonexistent baby sitter to go to a night time church meeting.

we have also tried blended/hybrid meetings with face to face and zoom together, just need a big screen which we have in our social hall.
putting a big tv screen in that ancient Meetinghouse is going to be a tough sell to some of the members who like the simplicity of what we have.

lot of new normals happening out there

“A friend is one to whom one may pour out the contents of one's heart, chaff and grain together,

knowing that gentle hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping,

and with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.”

framed poster in my Father's bedroom as we were growing up. It was titled an Arabian Proverb.
Actually it was a proper English woman and poet.
True friends cut each other some slack

Going to be a hot Summer the way it's going. Still Spring and 84.2 deg (29 C) at 9.00 a.m. this morning. Looks like a hot day ahead. Thankfully there is a good breeze. Chainsaw job ahead. A tree has come down and blocked one of my tracks in the bush after the last wind. Too big to push aside with the tractor.
Youngest daughters 49th B'day today. Will have to cruise over to see her I guess. Public holiday here today.
Have a great night/day all.
Tell her Happy birthday from Texas!
60°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 77° today. Rained here pretty much all weekend.

Replaced the three flush-mount LED light fixtures on the stove side of the kitchen yesterday. Much brighter over there now.

Looks like I missed more than a couple posts while I was away. I have some catching up to do.
Glad you're back.

Really nice. wonder what she weighs? Under/over minimum?
With that 3/4" foam padding, you could've easily driver her home from FL. :)

Work was slow. I got a job out by lunch, and decided I needed to take my Kurt Vise apart. The coolant I use doesn't adequately lube things, instead it can make two sliding surfaces develop a "gummy" thin slice of grime.

I have some leftover modified Cat pressure washer pumps from a project. I want to put something together to make an electric pressure washer, but it looks like I'll have to make a bunch of parts and buy a bunch of parts. Probably cost prohibitive. Need an unloader, and a flow controller, plus hoses etc. Maybe I'll just piece it together and keep one in case my gas powered pump goes out. I just thought it'd be nice to flip a switch and you're pressure washing relatively quietly.

8:18 pm, dark already and 77°, daughter is listening to old Doobie Brothers (another park another Sunday) in her room. She's been on a DB kick for a week or 2. I'm not complaining. She also likes country music for some odd reason.....didn't get that from me. hehe I like a handful of country songs, but not too many. I always have said The Eagles are my favorite C&W band.

Wifey made tacos...yummy....with Cholula original sauce....

Nice pictures guys.

RNG, I often look like I got in a fight with a cat after doing some mechanic work. I have an old white button down, long sleeve shirt I try to remember to use. It helps. When I flushed the tranny in the Malibu, I got scratched up a little (cuz I din't wear it). Good luck getting the red bike squared away.

We just got news my wife's aunt passed away from covid. No vaccination. Uncle is distraught and tore up. She was his everything.

After having covid, and getting both Moderna shots, I'm really glad I don't have to wear a mask here.
