60°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 77° today. Rained here pretty much all weekend.

Replaced the three flush-mount LED light fixtures on the stove side of the kitchen yesterday. Much brighter over there now.

Looks like I missed more than a couple posts while I was away. I have some catching up to do.

Good afternoon. Max had to be sedated for his annual check last week, which resulted in him going back to have 11 of his teeth pulled. I hadn't been aware before that such extensive tooth decay is almost inevitable in some of the smaller breeds as they get older (he is 9). It seems that dogs have a lot more teeth than humans, so he still has plenty left to enjoy chomping on any voles or rabbits he can catch.

In the future, if you get stuck for something else, I'd be happy to take a look around here for you to see if it's available
Thanks for the offer, much appreciated.

Aside from shortages, export of firearm related items from America seems to be a lot trickier in the last year or so - wouldn't want to see you hauled away to Guantanamo for sending banned export items to an unstable country like Britain ! :giggle:

I use power tools all the time and I am sure Bird does too, what else to you do to attract the rain?
Could it be because all my corded tools are 230V, which goes with a much more impressive bang if rain gets in ? :)

69F and cloudy at the moment @ 12:00, although we've been going back and forth between clouds and sun all morning. Calling for a high temp of 73F with a 30% chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Got 0.23" of rain yesterday and none so far today.

Getting a haircut is high on the priority list today.

Also need to run down to NAPA and pick up an engine oil filter for the Kubota and then maybe over to Akron Tractor for a fuel filter.

More garage clean up on menu.

Possibly dig up and move some more Stella D'Oro's over to that east planting bed. Suspect we have some more hosta we could throw in there as well.

If the sun stays out for a while and the rain holds off long enough probably some grass that needs mowed, although it can probably wait for a few more days. It seems to have slowed way down growth-wise ...

Thinking I may hold off on over-seeding until I've had a chance to spray the lawn and treat for weeds a couple of times. That pushes it out until next year ... probably next fall. Just running out of time this year.

This is recycle week so those need to go up to the road along with the trash.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Monday ... (y)

67°F and .24 inches rain

Continuation of yesterday’s plan minus the football.

Glad Brady won but also happy to see the new guy play well. Perhaps a Super Bowl matchup next year?

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 8:00AM. Sunshine to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High 92F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. No rain in the 10-day forecast, with chances dropping below 20% through the period. Today and tomorrow will be the warmest, and after the front comes through Thursday night, 80F will be the warmest we'll see.

Glad to see you're getting a cool-down even if no rain.

Surprised to see a succulent on that new Amazon plant order, RS. Won't they freeze and burst this winter?

Supposed to be hardy in Zone 6 (we're in 6A or 6B, I forget which)

Maybe has an anti-freeze component to it ?

Got the antenna replaced on the van yesterday. Kinda stumbled my way through it, having to disassemble part of the dash to get the old one out, and the new one connected back up to the radio. The antennas themselves also had to come apart. They're the retractable kind, and the reels had to come off to get the masts in place. My right forearm looks like it was in a cat fight from reaching into the dash. This time I also used a wire from the radio to trigger raising the mast, but left a manual switch in place so I could over ride it when needed. The mast on the new one is a good 15" taller, and reception is finally as good as it should be.

The speedo cable was still attached when I checked, so I'll need to crawl under the van and make sure the other end still is, too. The speedo has been making noise for a while, so it's likely it needs a trip to the speedo doctor. Checking my records, it was just there last fall.

Yikes.

I've got a little bit of seat time planned for this morning moving some firewood and getting a tarp over it, then I want to get the red bike running and take a spin to make sure it's OK for the camping trip this weekend. I should also check the tires on the touring bike, since the weather is cooling off enough to take it out of mothballs.

Enjoy the seat time ... ;)

The information is readily available by a simple search.
"The number of COVID-19 vaccine breakthrough infections reported to CDC are an undercount of all SARS-CoV-2 infections among fully vaccinated persons, especially of asymptomatic or mild infections. National surveillance relies on passive and voluntary reporting, and data are not complete or representative. These surveillance data are a snapshot and help identify patterns and look for signals among vaccine breakthrough cases."

Thanks for the link anyway.

Yes Eric. We have copped several vet bills the last few years for the removal of bad teeth from our Pug (9) and one of our Chinese Crested dogs. Usually around $700 per time. 4 times so far. The Crested now has no teeth. He is also 9 years. They cope well with no teeth but no more bones. They are very fit and healthy otherwise. First sign of bad teeth is bad breath. Can't let them suffer. Get them to the vet asap. I think the vet said they have about 42 teeth from memory. Human’s normally 32 teeth.
The Chinese Crested is prone to losing teeth as compared to the Chinese Powderpuff. Our Powderpuff hasn't lost any yet at 4 years old.

Home from our trip. Feels very humid, weather station says 63%. Calling for thunderstorms this evening. Might hop on mower.

Sunset rock on US40 east of Sparta TN. Because of rain, We decided to take US40 instead of going up to the interstate.

Got yard around house mowed, not doing field this time. Sky getting dark to the southwest, radar shows storms forming.
