Nothing in the FAQs involving “mentioning dealer names.”

Seems the Forum Rules are somwhat ambigous, much like Facebook.

There have been more than a few posts regarding service issues with tractor dealers. Names and locations were mentioned many times in posts. So its not against forum rules to name a non-performing dealership.

I might add, that in nearly every post where a dealership was failing the customer, to my surprise, things eventually got resolved to the satisfaction of the customer. Many of those customers took advice from forum members here, which helped greatly with resolution of their service or repair problem. And despite the occasional advisement to seek legal help, No lawyers or attorneys were needed to fix their tractors.

^ Good summary! I've been here several years now myself, and agree. Many frustrated owners of new tractors (nearly all brands), who expect instant gratification from their dealers, come on here to gripe, then some of us help reset the expectations and calm them down. But theres also always the armchair quarterbacks yelling for lawyers, lemon law, and to sell and run away. Same pattern every time.

Actually many of the laws that are being proposed are forcing the specific diagnostic software to have the API's published. While there can be things such as specific DTC's or connections either the software must or specifications must be given to the end user.

Contrary to the implications in this post, the “Rules” listed here are not included in anything one agrees to when signing in to this forum.

These rules were posted by Muhammad on 2/21/17 under community forums, news/feedback. They are not obvious and finding them is not straightforward.

In fact they are inconsistent with forum rules listed under TractorByNet Support FAQs. In the FBN FAQs the rules are as follows:

“The forum rules are pretty simple. Do not post anything that is:
Vulgar
Sexual
Hateful
Threatening
Against the Law
Unpaid Advertising
Political
Brand Bashing”

Nothing in the FAQs involving “mentioning dealer names.”

Seems the Forum Rules are somwhat ambigous, much like Facebook.
Interesting post by an ID that just registered, almost like an existing member created a new ID to post, but it isn't correct;

The following forum rules shall govern the conduct of members of TractorByNet. In addition to these guidelines, our Terms of Use has an acceptable user policy in section 9, which all members are bound by and must agree to in order to sign in.

What's not allowed on TBN:

<< snipped >>

-Mentioning dealer name in threads discussing problems or disputes with dealers

If you do any of these things, your messages may be deleted, or in some cases threads closed. Although rare, repeated offenses lead to account deletion or temporary bans.

I guess the word system sounded like I wanted software that specifically makes things hard to repair. I'm saying I want fuel injection over a carburetor knowing it will be harder to fix but generally more reliable. I don't expect engineers to design it specifically to be easily repaired I expect them to design it in the best and most efficient way possible.

Plasmacam had some general legal threats, something about the board being proprietary and that I "couldnt" post a video of how I replaced the mosfet to get it working. When I told them the difference between couldnt and they don't want me to the guy said they would take "legal action" if I posted anything that shows how the board works. Obviously there was nothing they could actually do but irritating either way.

I am not quite sure why the confused guy feels the need to question other members......

Look up you’re state laws concerning warranty, each state is different and they have specific laws conceding warranty and what the manufacturer is liable for, this I know first hand
