Generator Selection?

I am not sure if the free 5 year extended warranty if you sign up for MobileLink monitoring is still going on or not.

I bought my 22kw in August, I got the Mobilelink 5 year warranty deal then. My generator was delivered within a week or to, I think I ordered it at the perfect time.

First 'live' test on the transfer switch worked. Finally got things to the point I could set the portable 8250/7500 in place and connect it with a twist lock plug on a pigtail to the ATS Gen input. Only let it run about 15-20 minutes, but everything I tried worked. Lights, refrig, electronics, etc. I kicked the breaker off to the water heater just in case though.

Just wish I knew if it would be worth it to cancel the 16KW and order a 14KW to save the $500 or so.

You will never regret having more generator than you need. The $500 sting will be quickly forgotten.

My brother bought a Kubota at 0%, he's kinda proud of that, as he got such a great deal.

I paid cash for mine, and it was $700.00 cheaper...

I bought a new 4WD PU last year, it had a window sticker of $38,000.00 and It was what I wanted. They tried to get me to finance it with some super duper 0%, but I penciled it out first, and then walked in, and got the REAL deal with $29,000.00 in my hand...

Seems there's always some one around with the product you want, with a deal, if you have cash in your hand...

I just bought a cub cadet zero turn lawn mower. They were having zero percent for like 36 months. Asked the guy what the cash price was. Mind you the zero turn was "listed" at right around $3K. So I could finance the $3k at zero percent OR pay cash and get a whopping $100 knocked off. No thanks, I'll take the zero percent. I'll make the $100 up in investments over the life of the zero percent loan.

First time I have never gotten a significant discount for offering cash. I even offered to go to the bank and get literall cash if they wanted.

When i purchased my 2017 tundra i wanted to pay cash. They would not accept that much cash. Too much govt bureaucracy involved. Also, no cash discounts anyways.

yes anything over $10K in actual cash they have lots of paperwork to do. Usually if you pay via credit card the merchant ends up paying 1.5% to 3.5% of the transaction back to VISA, MC, Amex whoever.... but handling cash has its own costs so 6 of 1 or 1/2 dozen of the other.

Usually you get a discount if you are not financing it because the vendor gets all their money up front.

That's what the check book is for,
write the check, I'll be back in two days to pick up the truck.

Cash is getting harder to spend in Covid era.

A recent change is Hospital no longer accepts cash and for decades bills over $20 are not accepted at many local establishments such as gas stations, convenience stores, etc...

One thing I've noticed is many 30 and younger have never had a checking account... they rely on apps and debit cards.

Slightly off topic but----------

At toll booths the refused $20. bills and that was all I had.
Threatened me jail if I did not toss coins into the hopper.
Well, I told them that since they refused legal tender they could go you know where.
The claim was counterfeit money was rampant.
I added that if they (LEO's) did their job properly we would not have that problem.
I drove thru with no problems!
