Ted- I am sorry to read about your neighbor's tractor. Like the dealership did not notice a misaligned FEL?

Jay, agreed, and I'll second that by asking why the manufacturer QC did not catch that before it ever went out the door.
I wonder if it was a branded FEL built by someone other than the tractor maker.
Seems like lots of QC steps along the way missed.

Yup. Even then, cleaning ladies coming to house on Friday. Crew of 6.
The last person out is going to wipe down every handle and frequent touchpoint in the house.
Who knows what they bring in with them...these ladies in the past haven't stayed home when they were sick.
If they stayed home, they earned nothing and felt they had to go to work regardless.
Common problem.
I already had the discussion with them about the difference between making things shiny and making them clean.
And worse is taking cleaning rags used in one house and then using them again in next house. I supply the cleaning clothes, big stack
of them, and then they get washed in hot water when done. I supply the Pledge because otherwise they would use dollar store off brand stuff.

Others now simply cancel their cleaning service, besides likely one of the family earners is home, and saving money is like earning it.

45°F and light thunderstorms this morning, going up to 60° today. Some more potentially severe weather is forecast for tomorrow, then we'll supposedly get no more rain until mid-next week.

Traffic in the STL area has been pretty light this week. Unfortunately, all the really sh*tty drivers are still out there. Loads of accidents this morning all over the area highways.

Had a close encounter last night with one of our skunks. I hadn't been seeing them on the barncams for the last couple of weeks. The Wife told me yesterday that something had been digging near the coop again. While walking out to put up the chickens last night, I noticed some movement in the coop in my peripheral vision. When I shined the flashlight on it, it was Pepe le Pew trying to have his way with a duck egg. I realized right away that I was about two feet away from a live wild skunk, and his business end was pointing right at me. However, he seemed oblivious to me, and continued his efforts to penetrate the tough shell of the duck egg. So, I pulled out the phone and shot a little video for a few seconds, then went around the other end to see where he got in. Everything was secure where we go in and out. As I turned around, I saw him walking along the outside of the coop, around the corner and right past me (about a foot away), and he crawled back under the corner of the barn. That was waaaaay closer than I've ever wanted to be to a live skunk.

The neighbor was very excited to get his new tractor off the trailer. I helped unsecured it and unload the PHD parts, then he had the honors of backing it off the trailer. It was quite obvious there was something wrong with the loader.... the bucket on the left side was drooping about an inch. Seems like one loader arm is lower than the other.

This is a long shot, but it could be something as simple as air in the hydraulic system. First, check to see that the hydraulic oil level is correct, then have him cycle the loader arm and bucket hydraulic cylinders over the full range a few times and see if that helps. :crossfingers:

The vultures finished off the dead possum I moved over near the woods. I got trail cam pix of up to 8 vultures at a time, some fights, and a few of the red tail, too. Skin and bones now.
?......?.....................?
"vultures" be same as we call turkey vulture up here?

Good old buzzards! LOL

RNG has it right.... live alone, away from everybody, and be self sufficient.....

Easier said than done, Ted. Trips to town for supplies, doctor's appointments, urgently needed repair parts, etc. are still required, as even Amazon has been sold out of a lot of household goods that I've been able to find for lower prices at Costco. And what happens when you get hurt, or need outpatient surgery, and there's no neighbor willing to take you to the doctor/hospital? Technology and hydraulics only go so far.

The grass always seems greener on the other side of the fence, but it has a way of changing shades once you're there.

Thanks for the +痴 regarding my poor old @r$e. I did not know that the maximus gluteus was our strongest muscle; based on its feedback it is still unhappy. I am happy that I can still gimp around the place. I think that I値l now be wearing crampons around here till even the bleached out scat piles dissolve.

Glad you didn't do something like break your hip, and hope the pain decreases from here on out until it's gone, Jay. When I get hurt like that, the pain usually peaks two days after the injury. Keeping with the season, a few fingers of Jamison or Tillamore Dew can help.

59° and sunny, pretty day, went for a walk with my grandson and Gracie. I informed my friend that I would not be returning to work until the virus threat passes. He was very understanding.
Nice pictures posted guys.
Everyone stay safe, I’ll check in later.

Prayers for all, and for some good news.
