JD2720 Rear wheels configuration

Hi All,
Still going the through the paces with my JD2720 and was able to get a good price to get the rear wheel filled with rimgard.
The challenge is that the valve stems are in the inside.
If i take the tires off, then I cant put them back on with the additional weight.
Can i reverse the tires to have the valve stem on the outside. Will that make the stance narrower?

That depends on the offset and wheel design. Just measure the offset on both sides and you will have your answer.

The stock wheels on my 4310 places the valve stem in with them on the wide setting. I bought a set off eBay that have a greater offset that places the stems out in the wide setting. Sorry not to answer with any more specifics. Without pics I don't know the design of the wheels you have.

Thanks, just measured and the difference in offset is only 0.5 inch. Seems it wont matter too much if i swap sides. Maybe spacers are next on the list

Why do you care if the valve stems are to the inside? Once the tires are filled, you'll likely not need to access the valve stems again for years.

Yes you can move the tires around once they are filled. Just be very careful to make sure the tire stays "upright" as you roll it around. If it starts to go over, it may be too heavy to stop. Getting them back upright again might require mechanical assistance.

Some wheels are not designed to be reversed. When they are you will have twice as many holes as you have lugs. One set will be tapered on one side and the other on the other side.

Make sure and use the holes where the taper matches the lug bolts/nuts. Also remember to retorque after a few hours and periodically. They CAN come loose.

The rimgard company needs the valve stems on the outside to pump the fluid in. As for rolling the tires, there is still going to be the need to lift it back on the lug nuts.

I dont think I have rims that can be separated.

Tractorguy isn't talking about adjustable wheels that the rim unbolts from the center. He's talking about the lug bolt holes being designed to tighten one way using a taper in the center bolt holes.
