JD2720 Rear wheels configuration

Tractorguy isn't talking about adjustable wheels that the rim unbolts from the center. He's talking about the lug bolt holes being designed to tighten one way using a taper in the center bolt holes.

Got it, i guess will be taking the tire off to see if the lug bolt holes are tapered or flat.

You can tell by the centers that they are reversed from yours. The question is what that does to tread width?

That can be best answered by removing one and doing some measuring? Or you might find something in the owners manual that tells you?

The offset is only different by 1/2 inch and i have the owners manual and it doesnt say anything about flipping the tires

I believe I'd have to double question the rim guard company on that; as to why they can't fill them the way they are now. Seems as if it might be a tad more work to fill from the inside but I don't see how it would be impossible. You might have to remove or loosen the fender some but....it seems as if could be done. As long as the valve stem can be reached it seems as if they could be filled. I don't know your tractor but I filled my own and it's doable.

They came over today and they have an adapter that connects to the valve stem and it extends out over 6inches and needs to be hooked up with the fluid pump. So they cant do it in the current config as it hits the main hub assembly.

I dont think I have rims that can be separated.

Those wheels are not reversible if you have typical tapered lugs. You can pull one lug to determine if they are on correctly.

You can still get the wheel back on after taking it off, even when filled. I've done it on tractors with larger tires than yours. Roll the newly filled tire back up to the wheel studs as close as you can get it, then use the jack to gently lower the tractor down to the level where the studs will slide back through the holes in the rim. I've taken completely filled tires off, moved them aside, then installed 3" spacers, then put the tires back on. It really isn't so bad to do.

When trying to switch loaded wheels from side to side to gain width, my 3720 wheels could not be turned around because there were dimples that would not allow be to seat the wheels fully, I found out later. It did work for a while.

The valve stems were on the inside and I thought that didn't matter much anyway. That was until I was pulling dirt and brush with my box blade. Some sticks got jammed between the wheels and then tractor frame and as the wheels rotated it sheared a valve stem off, then the fun began.

To make the wheel stance wider I needed to put on spacers and leave the wheels on the same side of the tractor to keep stems on the outside. I still need to take care in heavy brush, but not as much.

Kubota has a little half metal circle guard for the valve stems; does Deere do something similar? See pic. By the way, I love your signature.
