Looks like WW is down. It’s been over a day now.

Minnesota Dave or anyone else have any insight?

No insight here but I hope it's not going to be like last time. Maybe they're updating the site, several of the diesel forums I belong to recently upgraded their sites. Much nicer and faster now.

Thanks fellas. I was kinda worried maybe it was something I had said. Glad to know it wasn’t me that broke it.

So far, they haven't determined if it's your fault or the Russians fault so don't leave town.

any news on the comeback of the welding web site coming back up?

Hope it comes back soon. A guy on there owes me money. :2cents:

I hope this isn't like last time. As I recall they discovered that 6 months of daily backups were unreadable (or badly made?) so when it came back up, everything recent was lost forever.

Yomax I hope you have some record of that debt - emails or something - in addition to just the recent conversations that were stored there!

I'm going into WW withdrawl here! Anyone have any info? Someone was asking on Practical Machinist too...

We have a WW Moderator in this thread, they haven't told him anything so he's keeping a low profile. :D

'maintanance' (not maintenance) showing on the Down screen isn't confidence-inspiring. Especially after their last disaster where 6 months of history got flushed.

Penton media doesn't own WW anymore. Welding mag is not associated with it. The links to the magazine were broken long ago after the merger. As far as I know, they kicked it out when Informa bought it a while back. They wouldn't even respond other than to say it was not owned by them. I think it was existing as a zombie, as no ownership showed up anywhere. If someone else has it, it's been kept mum. I was expecting it to evaporate, which may or may not be the case. A site costs to operate and maintain. If no one is paying the bills...

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Vertical Scope owns it. They have bought up just about every website in the country with any readership.

If WW is now an orphan maybe Everlast could buy it? You need good volunteer moderators but I wonder if the operating cost is substantial.

Not everyone uses import welding machines. Homeowners probably but industrial users, most likely not. Still equate Everlast with boxing trunks.

Don't forget Ukraine.....

I think WW is owned by Acronym, and was designed by Shadow.
