Good morning!!!!

Some good progress today on carport. Header bolted into place. For some reason getting all the holes (4 surfaces) proved a bit challenging

Still have legs 3 & 6 to attach. The brackets I have will work nicely but need to find more appropriate gussets tomorrow. And more self drilling screws. Looks like the bag I ordered is taking a breather in Honolulu.

Did you build the frame and turn the legs?

Built the frame and top / drop leaf, also the drawer. The legs were salvaged from an old table years ago... that was getting thrown away. I do not have a lathe, something I have always wanted to get, but could never “ substantiate “ the cost. Most of the furniture I have made is either Shaker style or Modern Country. Usually do not use turned pieces.

Thanks for all the great praises of my woodworking skills ! I have always enjoyed doing it, and would have made a career out of it if I could have. I had a small shop about 35 yrs ago, and made custom furniture. I had some really nice jobs, but could not support a family with just a job every now and then. Basically never pursued it after a year or two, just made things for us. Got into construction trades thereafter, made a lot more money.

I'll ask about the inversion technique today at nuerosurgeons. Condition got much worse yesterday, had a hard time walking, shooting pains down legs and some loss of urinary control. Had to bring a chair into greenhouse this morning to water plants, could not stand up. Something is definitely getting pinched in there...
Starting to make me think my next stop is a CCC. Always knew it would happen, just a matter when. And I have certainly gotten more out of the last six years than any of my docs thought I would. Have to make the best of everything.

My neck is fused with six inches of titanium so nothing going to stretch there.

That sounds all too familiar, Drew. Today my internist described our symptoms as stemming from collapsed discs, or more precisely the hole in the disc collapses and pinches the nerve that goes through it. I have a little bit of that, not nearly to the extent you may have, but he's optimistic inversion therapy will help, and a couple buddies of mine have had good results with it. So now I'm shopping Craig's List for an upsy daisy rig of my own. But I was also cautioned to have some way to pull myself back up, as apparently some folks have been trapped upside down when there wasn't anyone around to help them escape!

I sure admire your never say die attitude! But like you say, what else can you do?

he said "you don't need those" and he gave her maybe 3 treatments and had her drink some awful tasting herb tea and she hasn't had any issues since and that was about 3 or 4 years ago.

I'm sure there are a lot of QUACKS so to speak, but this guy knew his stuff so find a good one and maybe he can relieve some of that nerve and other issues if you might want to try something a little outside the box so to speak.

OMG DIF, if that guy's still in business, I need to get up there pronto! Been taking allergy shots for almost 60 years now!!!

Howdy Team!

Prayers for Drew, and those who are still sick or mending.

Happy Bday for Topps grand son and Ron's pup.

going down to 39F tonight. son made a fire in fireplace.

Finally caught a mouse that had eaten the cheese twice out of the old school trap. Caught him with a new school plastic trap.

Still listening to Undaunted Courage. Great book so far, they just got to the Pacific when I had to turn it off....They were all really sick with dysentery from only having mostly roots to eat on the western side of the Rockies...

RNG: don't buy a cheap inversion table and you'll be fine unless you drink and hang then all bets are off. Costco sold close to 100,000 invertalign inversion tables cause they'd get 10,000 to sell each year for $220 and invertalign sold them for $450 for about 9 months a year after Costco sold out. so there should be a few in your area for $100-200 on Craigslist or offerup. don't buy the old Teeter ups because they had a very hard method of getting in and out your feet/ankles, but since they bought Invertalign (or maybe they owned both companies to begin with) they have the nice ratchet which works well for me. my 6'4 son that weighs 350 and was a football player always would hang on mine when he'd stop by cause he didn't want to buy one, but he loved hanging. i've never ever felt like I was going to fall out or get stuck and i've owned maybe 10 of these cause clients would keep leaving my house with mine and i'd just buy another one.

Dr. Men in Bellevue, Washington should still be in business and i'll text him if you are serious. no guarantee he'll fix you, but he surely fixed my 63 year old wife's alergies.

if you need help buying or adjusting your inversion table just ask and i'd be happy to help you. you should be able to tip back and forth by barely moving and getting in and out should be pretty easy too. did you see my 81 year old mom was hanging on mine and it fixed something her Dr. had no idea how to?

cheers

Good evening all. 38F for the low, overcast, calm wind. Light wind today, overcast all day, and high temp was 42F. Restarted fire in insert after some ash grooming. Went outside and played with splitter, getting better with it, still had it launch several splits up to 3 feet after a loud pop :). Nap this afternoon finished my useful activities.
