55" or 60" Root Grapple EA vs MTL

I agree with this. My MTL off ebay arrived in 2 days and its done everything ive wanted it to do. Ive had mine about 3 years now and its moved literally hundreds of trees while clearing 12 acres with not a hiccup or problem. EA makes good grapples. I just couldnt justify the cost difference.

as for size. You wont notice any difference with the wider one. Id go with the narrower. one.
I've got one coming today! Ordered it last Thursday. For less than half the price than EA within a few days of ordering...a no brainer.Don't care if it's not the greatest ever.It will pick up trees, brush etc.just like the high dollar wait 4 months to arrive brand. It's also made in the USA which matters to me.

Good for you. With all that money you saved you can buy another attachment. Or just feel good about saving lots of money.

Grapples are a fairly basic attachment, no sense breaking the bank to move some brush and wood.

I am having this same dilemma. I saw the EA factory today and was very impressed with the quality. Unfortunately every dollar counts and I am trying very hard to justify the additional dollars. In the end this is probably something I'll only need for a couple of years at the most. I called MTL this morning and I'm still waiting for a return call. MTL's website doesn't list the weights that I can see and I want a little more info before I buy. I can honestly say that I have spoken to Travis twice at EA and my phone call was always answered and I've never had to wait or leave a message. Customer service is definitely worth something. Too many choices.

No doubt EA makes great equipment and Travis is a great asset to EA. But as soon as your order is processed by EA you will not hear from them again. So is it worth another thousand (or more) dollars for something you will use for a few years? I would say no. My cows do not care what my grapples look like. They are not as wicked looking but who cares? Make no mistake, if your buy EA you will get a very good product but you will PAY to have Travis answer the phone on the first ring and you will PAY for that fancy new factory. MTL will get you a lower priced grapple that will pick up your brush and wood just as well. You might need to wait for a call back or call twice. Just my :2cents:

I have the 60'' wicked on my MX5100. It has been a great grapple.I'm pretty tough on equipment. my mom use to tell me I could tear up a steel ball with a rubber hammer. So, when I had an issue with my grapple, Travis stepped up and took care of it. Will the others do this ?
I have also used this grapple on my 105HP tractor.

I'm really happy I saved and bought this grapple ! I have learned over the years that, Cheap ain't good and good ain't cheap

Customer service means a lot when you need it.

Not much customer service needed after you buy the thing though. A grapple is a fairly simple piece of equipment. Like I said earlier, I have given MTL a bunch of money and have a lot of their attachments. No complaints. It is easier to get MTL by text a lot of times if you need.

trying to decide on pros and cons with 2 different grapples for a Kubota L3901 55 " EA Root Grapple vs MTL 60" RG anyone have experience with the 2 ? suggestions and opinions welcome. Thank you for all replies. A36 vs AR 450 steel.

On that Kubota your implement weight is going to matter. The MTL is heavier and when you don’t have a lot of lift capacity anyway every hundred pounds of weight savings counts. EA also pays attention to the details and their designs are well thought out. Buy once, cry once.

Very, very, very few TBN members are running grapples on a 105 HP tractor. Thank you for point out that EA grapples have problems. All grapples can have problems.
