Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 6:00AM. Sunny. High 92F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
There were four or five lightning caused fires from yesterday's afternoon storms, and one pretty good sized one up near Susanville, northeast of here. Quick response on the local fires kept them to a few hundred square feet, thankfully. The CalFire Air Attack spotter plane seemed to be following the thunder clouds as they moved north, probably the biggest reason for the quick response.
There are recall efforts underway for both the Chico mayor and now our California governor. I support both of them, but will only be able to vote in the governor's case. Both are fiscal idiots, but since my mother taught me not to say anything if you can't say something nice, I'll stop there.

Perhaps Georgetown could take a page from the playbook out here and get a new mayor sooner rather than later, Don.
Glad you got good news from the JD dealer, Drew. He's probably hoping you'll come in for a new tractor some day.
First thing I do when coming into the house, after going to town or working in the garage/yard, is wash my hands. Never know what kind of germs/chemicals/dirt might be on them, and the last thing I want to do is put any of that on my food. An old friend of mine, a retired mechanic from United Airlines, used to joke that you could tell a mechanic from a manager by the way he washed his hands
before using the bathroom. Now, thanks to Farmer, we know why...
My heart goes out to you and your mom, Randy. You too, Ron & Betty.
Got the Helicoils installed on my neighbor's flange yesterday, but since I don't remember how it was installed on the mount, I'll have to wait until he comes by to finish up the job. Hope it doesn't disappear somewhere...
The new patio speakers also showed up, and yes, they do sound nice. Installation was easy, too, just remove and reinstall two drywall screws on each bracket, and swap over the wires. Almost took longer to open the box and deal with the cardboard waste.
Some of my route yesterday took me to elevations of 5000 feet or so, and the temperatures there were quite comfortable. Unfortunately, those elevations "enjoy" lots of snow in the winter, something I'll gladly do without. Those same areas were also blessed with green grass growing everywhere, and wildflowers as well, as if spring had started late and just kept going instead of switching into summer. Also saw a few small waterfalls, some still fed by melting snow. Last winter they got a LOT of snow up there...
Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
