That job is now WAY BEYOND the capability of "water pump" pliers.
Water pump pliers might have been a good original try.
NOW....Pipe wrench ONLY....and a high Quality pipe wrench....largest possible to fit in available space.

Ok, I've been a fan of Knipex already but that video is freaking amazing. Menards carries these in stock, along with several other Knipex pliers in case someone wants to see them in person.

Agree, really impressive and capable locking pliers from the vid

- but-
(and maybe I am alone on this) the last nut I tried to remove that looked that corroded resulted in twisting off the entire bolt shaft and nut as a single piece.
No nice shiny decent threads inside the nut.

I would like to see Kando give a set of those pliers a whirl on the stuck drain bolt -my guess is they would get that bolt out.
Especially with a cheater bar/tube placed over the locking pliers end.

A turbo socket with a 1/2 inch breaker bar sounds good to- since (The amount of grip increases with the amount of force applied.)

Yep, so amazing that I ordered a pair of the larger 12" ones and the 8" high leverage diagonal cutters. :thumbsup:

I have a pair of those and I didn’t realize they did that. Sure enough they do. That’s fact not marketing hype. Then I tried the same thing with a regular pair and they did the same thing but not as good. I have a pair of 10” cutters and they’re sweet. I’ve abused them every chance I got and the blades are much better than lower grade cutters. They don’t have a single knick in the blades. Channel Lock brand has gone to garbage btw.

I still think that if he needs a cheater, he's got more problems than we know about. What he really needs is to have somebody with a little more experience; that way he won't make his problems even worse.

The bottom line as I see it this issue has been solved for the life of the machine but I am still learning a lot that is helpful now with the "smooth" lug nut on the F-150. I am going to check out the German pliers mentioned in the last few posts.
