Can a shipping container be partially buried along its side on a steep/stepped hill to make a flat above it? Maybe even a carport? Maybe will some kind of drainage or will that just be a corrosion disaster at a later date?

From what I understand the side walls are not able to handle the pressure of dirt pushing in if you bury it. As such if you do would you will likely lose the side walls sooner or later unless you build a retaining wall first. The strength of the containers is all in the corners where they latch together.

Yeah ^^^^, it's going to rust and with too much dirt against one side, you would need to anchor it to some concrete.

Got to be a way though. A retaining wall will cost more than than the dang container. I’ve built several. Hoping the creative juices flow here.

Spoke to someone today with the same tractor ls xu5065 with r4s. Max height with r4s is 98 in to top of cab. Is 3in enough clearance? Am i going to be happy with r4s cutting pasture?
