Good morning!!!!

39F and partly cloudy @ 05:45 ... high will be around 52F, showers are supposed to roll though for a couple of hours this afternoon, then clearing.

Couldn't sleep ... this is the second time that's happened in the last 3 or 4 days. I get the first time ... I drank coffee late in the evening. This time I was just irritated/bothered.

Got the QH top hook extension mod done:

QH Top Hook.jpg

Also got roughly 3/4 of the spacers for the tines welded on the rake. Still have to cut around 10 more.

Extended forecast is looking good through this coming Tuesday ... highs in the 40's and 50's ... after that we're down in the 30's for highs.

I think I'll use the opportunity of the good weather over the next few to get some of the stuff that's outside put away in the barn for the winter, along with tying up a few other things that need to be done before the freezing weather gets here and the snow starts flying.

Anyone have a favorite cement for fiberglass gaskets on wood stove doors ?

I've tried the black Rutland cement previously and have not had good luck with it sticking for any length of time ... despite fairly meticulous prep.

Got a little more paperwork done yesterday morning, much of which was shredding old utility and phone bills. Got me wondering why I needed to get a paper copy each month, as both are on auto-pay through the bank. Never done it before, but changed over the accounts to paperless billing so I'd still get an email notice. Anyone else doing this and run into problems?
During our travel over the years. We slowly converted to paperless billing and reports. Sure cuts down on filing cabinet space. We need to clean out the 3 two drawer filing cabinets that have not been touched since I retired 13 years ago. We also pay all bills with E pay at our 2 Credit Unions. About all we get in mail any more is Amazon stuff, Medicare statements and advertisements.

Almost forgot. Great pictures.

I found with my wood stove that gasket failure was because of the mating surface sticking to gasket. Ended up polishing that area so that there was no sticking.

Interesting insight ... never considered that.

I'll have to inspect it and clean it up as needed.

Thanks ...

Good morning, all!

27 and headed to 37 with more flurries/rain showers. Wind S 13 gusting to 20 mph. I will have a headwind coming home with a load, there goes the fuel mileage.

Best wishes for all that are infirm or otherwise messed up.

Try to have a good day.

Don has whipper collar training started yet?

I'm doing something wrong. She comes, she sits, and when the collar gets and inch from her she takes off full speed in a big circle laughing. She then repeats this 20 times or until till I get tired of trying. I need the dog whisperer. The POD3 tracker is shipped and on the way, I may just have to use duct tape.

Good morning! Clear skies, 43˚ heading to 72˚. No freeze predicted for next 14 days.
Kyle prayers for your daughter.
Buckeye, slow that heart rate down, but not too much, and get released.

37 going to 62. Almost as pretty a sunrise as RNG's sunsets.

I need to order another glow in the dark Frisbee...Coco has really torn hers up and it barely flew straight this morning...but still glows nicely. Trying a new dog food...slowly mixing in some with the old. Regular supplier no longer carrying what we've bought, and it's been too expensive anyway, so ordered something pretty much equivalent.

Prayers for Buckeye and Randy and Kyle's family.

I always dress my deer where I kill them, then generally bring them home to skin, unless it's too warm, then skin and butcher on site, put in cooler with ice packs. No deer yesterday...woke up at 1am from nightmare my wife prompted with her reaction to the NorK missile launch. So got going early and drove to SE Virginia to the farm...saw deer, fox, possum, and turkeys...but none while I was hunting. The solar panels there are now wired, and rotate slowly during the day from east to west to catch the best sun. Saw a number of fields on the way home that still have standing soybeans and cotton, although most are harvested, and of course all the peanuts were a while back. Several combines were at work picking beans. Didn't see as much corn this year on my route.

RS, I've used the Rutland Black Furnance Cement in a caulking tube, but recently tried the Black in a squeeze tube especially for fiberglass gaskets and have had better performance...probably the same stuff, and I fooled myself, but what the heck...I did take a brush wheel on my portable drill to clean off the channels first.

Eric, creative way to describe a late autumn morning.

I've got some string trimming to do today...not new growth, just some fenceline I want to pretty up. Also, my wife bought some new Christmas outdoor decorations I'll put up. Also need to fire the load from my muzzleloader and give it a good cleaning...won't use it again this year...and while at it, pull out the 30-06 and see if it is still sighted in...haven't fired it since going hunting in Wyoming over 10 years ago...my county just made ***** hunting legal this year, as long as you keep it unloaded, except while in a treestand.

I was trying to think what project I wanted to tackle today and you made up my mind. I'll be doing my fence line also.

Good Morning!!!! 47F @ 5:15AM. Mainly sunny to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High 61F. Winds light and variable.

Thanks for the feedback on paperless billing. Most bills are paid with credit cards these days, the rest with direct bank e-payments. The bank would really like me to go paperless, but I found out the hard way that monthly e-statements are only available for 18 months online, then they want a fee to send you a paper copy. Same with credit cards, so until that changes, I'll still opt for paper monthly statements, and still keep filling up filing cabinet drawers.

Speaking of which, how long do you guys keep receipts and old credit card/bank statements? It's burning season again, and time to reclaim some space.

Headed to town today for groceries and other errands, and to get a little more time on the truck repair job. The mechanic is always using my unannounced drop ins as an excuse to have something better to do when I'm there, so late yesterday afternoon I texted him to let him know I'd be there around noon. His response was to ask if I'd mailed him a check yet. Wrong move, as we agreed to talk about progress payments only after he'd sent a revised copy of the spreadsheet we're using to track costs. I reminded him that it never came as promised, and I'm anticipating another heated discussion, especially if there's been no progress. Not looking forward to it, either.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!
