The low so far is 30*, the high was 46* yesterday. It's overcast now but they are calling for it to be sunny later in the day. The high is going to be in the low 40's and the wind 15-20.

Buckeyefarmer.. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

A few years back my brother pick me up a Savage model 24 over and under. Nice gun but the stock had seen better days. Yesterday I was going to refinish it. I couldn't get the screw out of the stock. Worked on it for a few hours then a neighbor come over and he said he would give it a try. He didn't have any problem at all getting it out. I told him I must be getting old. I don't have enough ***** to work a screw driver. I hope a don't have a problem with the sandpaper.

Going to work on that today.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

49F and very sunny ... high today of 54F.

Have to take 3PH frame over to do a little torch work on it ... also to check QH compatibility.

Speaking of QH's, you'd think that by the time EA had reached v2.0 of something, they would have figured out the spacing on the top link ears/hole placement to make their stuff QH compatible.

Apparently not ... so now we have a QH upper hook modification on the menu as well.

Hopefully I'll have the rake finished in the next day or so ... so I can get back to working on my stuff ...

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 8:15AM. Abundant sunshine. High 64F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph.

Good to hear you're still with us, Buckeye. Hope you can get back on solid food and out of the hospital ASAP. Nobody ever gets any sleep in a hospital...

I think he had you at "Super", Drew. Who could resist a name like that?

Look out, Eric, next year will be the 60th anniversary of The Blob!

Got a little more paperwork done yesterday morning, much of which was shredding old utility and phone bills. Got me wondering why I needed to get a paper copy each month, as both are on auto-pay through the bank. Never done it before, but changed over the accounts to paperless billing so I'd still get an email notice. Anyone else doing this and run into problems?

Had another look at the Injection Pump Regulator yesterday morning, and figured out that the only parts that were missing were a flimsy sheet metal nut and a spacer. The threads on the stud turned out to be 1/2x20, and I had a nyloc nut in the junk bin that fit. Just had to trim down the thickness so the nylon ring on top would engage. Then turned up a spacer and now the coil on the IPR is held in place more firmly than it ever was. Installation of the fuel filter bowl went smoothly as well, much easier than getting it out. The truck started right up, but fuel splashed all over the engine from the big pool that had accumulated in the valley between the two cylinder heads (it's a 7.3 L V8). Shut it down and hosed everything off, then went for a ride around the neighborhood. Didn't find anything leaking when I got back. Changed the oil while it was warm, and that pretty much finished out the day.

One more round of campfire pics:

Happy Hump Day gang...

Always had a soft spot for the Savage 24, CWB, but I never understood why they never made one in a 22LR/12Ga combination. Seems a natural that the two most popular chamberings be combined, but somehow the light bulb never came on over at Savage...:confused2:

Hope the sanding goes easy on you. What are you gonna use to finish it?

BEF,

Glad it went well.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery.

MB is super comfortable and a steal, you pay pennies on a dollar for a used one and if they have been maintained,
all good. And you get to put the top down. You need to go back 30 years for a good SS....;)

Both are convertibles, the SL had good miles, but some broken plastic pieces around the sun visors, way cheap crap for a $94000 car! Als has a musty smell inside that indicates leaking, very good condition, but spooks me a bit.

Good on you Buckeye! Keep getting better.
