65 degrees in cooler weather, only going up to high 70s today.
Cooler weather appreciated considering that I have five more big trees to plant this morning, and the holes have to be dug mostly by hand.
I did three yesterday and almost keeled over in the heat. Decided to pace myself, watered the ones I didn't get to and decided tomorrow/today was another day. I'll dig another three today. Two foot wide by almost two feet deep holes. Thank goodness for new high tech shovels that cut through roots much easier; I'm planting along an old established treeline with big trees, and of course, big roots. In hindsight, I should have put the PHD back on the tractor; this hand digging is for the birds. Well, younger birds than me...
My Ram truck goes into dealership today to sit over the weekend, and maybe the "hemi tick" will present itself to the mechanic. Intermittent, problem with many hemi engines, I think due to complicated valve train not getting oil. One thing if I hear a tap for a few seconds on startup.
Last time the truck sat for a week, it tapped for ten minutes. No....sooner or later something is going to fail.
I have told them three times about this already and of course it never happens while in shop nor does this condition apparently kick off error codes to track.
If I get a NPF, no problem found, next week, I will sell the truck and get a different brand. Sad, the engine is marvelous despite being thirsty, but that tap will never get better, only worse, and any mechanical part that taps for ten minutes straight is not going to last long. I think Chrysler is hiding something here; lots of mention of "hemi tap" online. I'm for sure not the only one.
