I'm looking into buying a Grapple myself and was wondering what grapple would you recommend for my tractor? There are so many grapple's are the market at the moment but really like the wicked grapple..

Just see post #2368 L45 has over 2,800 lbs lift full height at pins, more than the LA1055. And Eric has not broke it.

Compact Wicked Grapple for sure! Width and lid configuration is really up to you and the TBN peanut gallery.
Single Lid Compact Wicked Grapple
Dual Lid Compact Wicked Grapple

Seriously, I'll be glad to discuss size and lid configuration if you give me a call sometime!
Travis

From the EARLY days wayyyy back in this thread....
Roger has had a 72" Compact Wicked on his L 40 series Kubota for years! His is a 4240.

Here's a 4240 with a 60" dual lid.

A recent L6060 with a 60" single lid.

I knew I had an L5740 pic somewhere. This one is wearing a 72" dual lid.

You know Ted, I could use some toothed backward serrated 1/4" AR400 plates to weld on to the tips of my Grapples splines. I can do a CAD dwg for you, do the product testing and now you have an accessory line to sell?

Man, we are so far behind, so if I even hinted the idea towards Ted, engineering or our plant mgr, they'd throw multiple things at me until I disappeared.
Nice thought though!

20 yrs ago who'd a thought that photo of the 60" dual lid grapple would "turn me on"?

Thanks for the pictures.. Im leaning towards the 66" Dual lid version. Do they only come in black or can you get them in Kubota Orange also?

Hey Travis, how about checking and correcting some of the grapple weight numbers in your marketing material. Just how much more do dual lid grapples weigh? Cannot be zero pounds different from single. And how can a 72" grapple weigh only 38lbs more than a 55" of the same type??

As you acknowledged weight is a factor in selecting the right grapple so why not give your customers accurate data??

You're pretty persistent, ya know. We have beefed up some things like the cylinder mounts and added the protective bars on the back, so the slight weight increase does need to be updated.
Yes, you've harped on the dual vs. single negligible weight difference, i think, since we first made the single lid. This is also something that needs to be weighed, but the difference will be slight.

The traditional Wicked Grapple is really only available in black, but we may be talked into an orange one for $50 more.
One unattractive stipulation is that it could complicate an already complicated lead time, which most would like to stay away from!

If I'm persistent then you are equally evasive. Your sales literature is wrong. People make decisions based on it. We have a weight of 90+ lbs for one lid from a customer. If two weigh 70+ lbs more than a single that might be a consideration for someone with a medium size CUT. You guys cut out discs from your tines to save a few pounds and brag about it. Why not give accurate weights in your sales literature??
