The WICKED Root & Debris GRAPPLE!!!!!!!

I just bought the L45 and grapple was sitting there calling my name but I don't know if it has ever been used the board that is stuck in it looks like it could be part of the shipping crate but I'm not sure about that and it is 66"

You can still get a lot of use out of it. Brush doesn't weigh much and that grapple will grab a big chunk of it. My wide dual lid is beefy like that and one tractor has about the same lift as your L45. There are A LOT of piles of debris you can move with it. Weight is not your friend on heavy loads is all, for those you need a small light well built grapple.

my goodness I have read this thread for hours. I made a deal last Sunday on a grapple and I know very little about it but it has a new home and I will be using it. Bring it on what have I done?

If you decide you want a lighter grapple and want this one gone send me a PM.

I have an ideal timeline, scheme of events, for woody if I had the ability to lay it all out like a fairy tale(I don't, but can't we dream a bit?)....

To start...
Use the grapple for a while. You're obviously going to LOVE having a grapple! We can all wholeheartedly agree on this without a doubt.
I mean, it sounds like you got a good deal on this beastly chunk of steel, which shares the same basic geometry as our Wicked. For those who don't know, Ted's brother owns CA so we know those grapples VERY well.

You can throw it on the L45 and take out any frustrations on it imaginable. The grapple will remain in it's current state of condition.
Hook it up and simply ride around with it installed, noting the difference in having the grapple installed vs. the regular GP bucket. It will be noticeable and i'm not talking about the Big Man ego kick you'll experience right off the bat!

Here's a pic I took on our dock a while back.

I have an addendum to Travis's suggestion. Use it but list it at a fairly high price in CL while you use it and just leave the listing active until someone bites. That's an excellent skidsteer grapple and some contractor is going to want one in a hurry some day. When you sell it give Travis a call and he'll set you up with a more appropriate grapple that weighs half as much and work just as well.

Thanks for all the replies I did get a deal I could not pass up and since I have never had a grapple or the lifting capacity of an L45 I will not miss 400 ibs of lift. My L45 with the grapple on it will still lift more than my B26 if I am hearing everyone right. Thanks again and now I will have to watch some videos on the uses of the mighty grapple.

Don't worry about the weight of that grapple, it is probably similar to mine. That Wicked grapple would have carried the rock I pulled easier than my grapple, as it is designed better to grip & clamp stuff. Want to trade?
I have my L39 hydraulics modified a bit for about 20% capacity, wheel weights, thumb, and reinforcement for extra ballast, but that was about a 3,000 rock. I could not drive my excavator on the lawn. Attached is a photo next to my little tractor for comparison.

What have you done, you ask? You've acquired a 956 pound grapple. Hope you have one heck of a tractor to put it on....like at least 75+ horsepower!!
Travis

FYI My grapple is a bit over 700 Lbs, so you will notice the extra weight a bit. L45 is tough on grapples, expecialy on rocks, so it you trade you want a Wicked grapple in the 600 Lb range.
It has the capacity of some 75 HP tractors. Load the tires, and add wheel spacers/ weights.

Yes, they're very impressive machines, but I have complete confidence in the Compact, ~400 pound range Wicked Grapple on an L45.

I mean, it has been field tested by Eric for years on his famous NX6010.

I'm looking into buying a Grapple myself and was wondering what grapple would you recommend for my tractor? There are so many grapple's are the market at the moment but really like the wicked grapple..

You know Ted, I could use some toothed backward serrated 1/4" AR400 plates to weld on to the tips of my Grapples splines. I can do a CAD dwg for you, do the product testing and now you have an accessory line to sell?
