Just talked to Travis what I nice fellow.
I want to do a grapple and a true third function on my Mahindra 3016. I was hoping they had destructions on hand that I could read to make sure I understood how it was installed. Alas they don't. The inter web is useless as well.
Don't worry Travis once I get it understood I will be ordering both items from you.

Travis - do you think these links below could be helpful for Laderbuilt?

EA is part of an impressive dealer list for WR Long.

Thanks that is a useful link that offers some info. I'm more after a detail step on HOW to install the valve such as mounting location, hose routing, etc. I like to read and re read the info till I know it backwards and forwards. That way I fully understand what's involved and pre plan any deviations I might want to do prior to starting.

Maybe there is someone with a Mahindra 3016 that can help you out with pictures? I do know that the WR Long kits that EA sells are basically custom made to bolt right on for each machine. Even the hose lengths are pre-cut and EA makes sure your connections all mate up with the grapple too. All you need to do is work over the handle to get the switch grip installed and then find a hot lead for power to the switch and back to the actuator. Then bolt up, wire up, and route hoses down your loader arm. It is probably a couple hours worth of work, and I had my dealer do it, so please don't hear me saying it is super easy, but I think a mechanically inclined person can probably knock it out. Here is a snapshot of how one bolts up to a 2538. You can see the bracket and such. I've heard some folks say getting the original handle/grip off is one of the more difficult tasks... Good luck!

Sounds good. Hopefully more Mahindra owners on TBN can help you out!

This Wicked Grapple and 3rd Function kit review came in over the weekend from Bart in Florida. He has our Wicked Grapple on his John Deere 4052M.

WR Long 3rd Function Valve Kit
"Easy Peazy"
"I literally installed this kit on my 2016 JD 4052M in about 45 mins. I cant believe AgPro wanted $500-600 to install. The product was perfect."

60" Dual Lid Wicked Grapple
"My Incredible Grapple"
"What else can you say but "wow", I knew they'd be nice but i had no idea they were as tough as the really are at their weight. I have the 60 inch dual lid and i love it. Also. Be careful. The grapple tines are razor sharp when you receive it! Perfect laser cutting as the lids jaws literally could pick up a human hair as the shut almost seamlessly with the grapple. I have used the grapple and it is tough as nails and the serrated tines cut easily thru hard pack, rocky soil and pretty much anything. I HAVE YET TO DROP A LOG! A+ on an amazing grapple."

He's the guy that shared this awesome pic around a week ago.

It's been several months since I got my grapple and I'm finally getting around to installing it! Pulled out all my parts and discovered I'd only ordered one set of hoses (I'm putting in a disconnect at the loader attachment):ashamed: Realized that I'd also be better off using 45 degree fittings right there so I went ahead and ordered those along with the "missing" hoses. Anyway, here's the first time the grapple has been on the tractor (and first time the tractor has been in the new garage- coming in for 50hr maintenance and to do the hydraulics for the grapple) :

Any body got good photos of their hose routing since the topic got brought up? I hold them in place with two black bungees strung between the loader arms but it seems like as soon as hydraulic fluid hits them they have to be replaced so looking for better options.

I'm getting ready to make my purchase and had performed an image search for "grapple hose routing". Wouldn't ya know ETA was among the first...

HOSE-SAVER-4.jpg

I will likely order their hose saver.

I use long, heavy duty, black, UV resistant cable ties. I keep some in several lengths. Very handy.

Amazon.com: USA Strong Cable Ties. 18" Nylon Zip Cable Ties. Large 175 LB Tensile Strength Heavy Duty Industrial Grade. Durable, great for Indoor and Outdoor use | 5 Pack | MADE IN THE USA! (18" 175-LB, Black): Home Improvement

You can get some lengths at WallyWorld as well.

Man i want one of these EA Wicked grapples on my new to me Kubota L3800..really I'd love the whole set up to be EA especially since i'm a NC native. I'm trying to justify to myself the addtl expensive of the other attachments i.e. box blade, scrap blade, PHD, & cutter) from EA vs LMC. Being a weekend warrior, I'm not sure i can justify the addtl expense though..daily or weekly yes, but occasional use, I'm not as sure..

for the grapple in a 60" wide one, Travis seems to think a single lid vs dual lid is better. any of you current owners have an opinion on it as well? huge difference in capability going for the 50" grapple?

thanks for the feedback
