You can lead a horse to water.....

We don't know why EA recommends the 60 (they seem to recommend anything that someone wants to buy) nor do we have any specifics on what BEF intends to use the grapple for. Hard to engage without data.

Most importantly, everybody is happy with their grapple no matter what type or size.

Perhaps, if you didn't rush in to show off your grapple "expertise", you might have noticed that BEF did, indeed, specify his needs.

"Light duty use to move brush, limbs. I was looking at 60" single lid."

What he didn't specify was why he was focused on 60". Many if not most CUT owners buying their first grapple assume they need something about the same size as their standard bucket. The grapple industry (EA included) has done very little to challenge this notion or to provide any data supporting what width works best for what uses. Of course EA is in the business of making and selling grapples and will be happy to sell you whatever you want so there is relatively little effort put into sizing other than to offer multiple sizes.

As you know, I have pointed out ad nauseum that virtually NOBODY with a 48" grapple wishes they had a wider heavier more expensive grapple instead. If the 48 owners are so happy, what is it that keeps new inexperienced grapple buyers looking at bigger sizes? I'd argue it is a lack of data and experience. Very difficult for a CUT owner to get some grappling experience before buying one. Rentals are almost all aimed at the skidsteer market which is very different and does focus on larger grapples for construction work. Tractor dealers are generally pretty naive about grapples for CUTs too as they don't sell many and tend to size like they would for an equivalent horsepower skidsteer which is simply a mistake.

Yep, true. You have.

You know, saying something, multiple times doesn't make it true?

Not sure that BEF, or anyone else for that matter, must justify their selection to you.

Peace ..... out.

Why don't you add to the discussion at least as far as discussing your experience and thoughts. I try to help educate. You simply complain.

.

Saying something true, multiple times doesn't make it false.

BEF asked a question, IT gave his opinion. That is what makes TBN great.
