it's still dark out but 3.80 inches last night, still raining now lightly but the system is heading out.
Most of the time yesterday it was just a steady rain, not damaging. But with almost six inches of rain so far and
maybe another this morning, it's going to be a bit mushy out there. and I'm sure a lot of raking.
but otherwise, all good news, and thanks for positive thoughts.
I may be less cheery when the sun comes up and I can see the mess in the front of my property.
spent about four hours going through old boxes in the attic and sorting things, still from moving in, but got a lot done on a rainy day,
cranked up Pandora and listened to some tunes, and wound up with six trash bags of throw out stuff.
All good, we all know we need to throw out life's collections of dubious value. Or sell it at a yard sale. I still have another dozen moving boxes to go through.
I figure if I haven't needed anything in there in the last two years, I probably don't need it...like the box of winter hats and scarves I found. Need to save a few, give the rest away to charity.
resolved my travel trailer carport yesterday, going with a 12x12x41 metal carport, red and white to match barn, with three foot sides/metal on the side panels. I picked the strongest style, but not the super heavy duty uprights. Where this will be is pretty sheltered, in the lee of the woods and barn mostly. $3500 installed. I thought that offered good value. the extra ten feet of length will house a second tractor or someday, for someone else, they'll have room for a motorhome. Very common in this area to have these large carports in the rear of the property, most houses have them out front. I call them Carolina garages...
I was planning on having a Labor Day picnic here, today, and glad I didn't. Cars would have ruined the lawn. Monday should be nice for everyone though and all next week looks warm and dry.
