Flail Mower Let's talk flail mowers

Agrisupply will not have the TM1900 in stock until late May. Shipping to CO will be another $501, so I am officially looking for good alternatives.

I haven't seen anyone actually buy and review the WoodMaxx. I am wondering how any of these compare to the Betstco ones on ebay? What do people think about the different levels of Value Leader models I see there?

EF vs EFC, vs EFCG, etc? And which one would be closest to TM1900?

I was about to pull the trigger on the WoodMaxx flail if I hadn't found my Maschio. You can get an awful lot of mower with the WoodMaxx and the shipping is "free".

Keep in mind that the WoodMaxx and the EFCG are HEAVY. I hooked my mower (similar in weight to those two) up to my old tractor to move it around (Bolens/Iseski 27hp) and the 3 point was straining to lift it. I think it would have been fine for mowing since the mower rides on its back roller, but something to consider depending on your tractor.

My JD 4410 hydro is 35 HP and 28.5 PTO. Has anyone used it with the 73" Caroni TM-1900? It is right at the cutoff of HP.

My Kioti DK40se has about 33hp at PTO. I run my mower routinely at 2100rpm which is well below PTO of 2500. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment using the TM1900 on a JD4410.

I run my old 917 (think its over 72") behind my L3200 (32hp, 25PTO if I recall) just fine. The nice thing about a mower that is to wide is you can just slow down to make up for lack of HP if needed.

My Kubota 3450 is 37hp and runs my 73" Caroni like a dream, you should have no problems whatsoever!

Good reading, quick question:

Would my Kioti CK 25, not HST, be able to handle a 6 ft Alamo flail mower? PTO is approx 20 HP.

I'm looking at a used one that is 6 ft. I guess I should hold off and wait for a smaller one. I sure dont want to overload it. I should have mentioned, I would use it for mowing. My 2 acres is cleared and we keep it mowed with a finish mower so it wont be used for anything big. You think it could handle that?

Yes, it would probably be OK under those circumstances. Straight mowing shouldn't be a problem. It is only when you are breaking in new ground that they have to work hard.
