Redmax is a subsidiary of Husqvarna. Pretty much all their saws (except 1-2 small ones) are just Huskies in a red colored case.

Redmax was around for a long time before Husky acquired them in 2006 to get some of their strato-charge technology. I believe Red Max used to be a Japanese company.

I have a Redmax 18' 45cc chainsaw. LOVE IT ! ! ! :thumbsup: The only thing I have had to get used to is that you need to rev up the engine BEFORE you start to make the cut. I was used to putting the bar ONTO the tree before pulling the trigger. Can't do that with the Redmax as the clutch does not grab at low rpm. I talked to dealer about that, and he said it was due to new EPA rules from California (stupid people out there) :thumbdown: I will say that it cuts VERY fast and clean. Auto chain oiling is great (gets plenty of oil) and it doesn't use as much fuel as to old Mac that I still have. I would recommend this saw to anyone looking to replace or upgrade their equipment. :thumbsup: :2cents:

Husky now owns Redmax.. I have an older Redmax blower. Back then (2006 or so) Redmax was owned by Komatsu... Great Blower !

Redmax used to be Redmax saws from Japan and made some good ones. Husky bought them out for just like partner and the others they bought out in past. JMO.

Later redmax saws were just red huskys in drag. Now redmax is no more. Thread on it on Chainsaw Repair site. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/index.php

Now husky is having them make some japan made huskys like the 543xp :drink:

Think my husky leaf blower is a redmax too.
