You're gonna love those chains on ice James. I got a set of Duo's from Canadianchains.com this fall. They're awesome, we've had a fair amount of rain, then cold so lots of ice. They laugh at ice!

I gotta wait until it warms up some man, I just can't stay out in this kind of cold very long, and the little Kioti barn (Kioti den?) doesn't have any heat or anything.

I will put them on soon and take some pictures. In the meantime here is what I bought. Looks like they are sold out of them now.

Ahhh...y'all Southern dwellers should spend some time in the "land of ice, snow, and the occasional beaver" ;)

Don't make me thaw out the dogsled and come down there..

Having said all that, I think I'll turn on the heat in the garage tonight so I can install a block heater in my car tomorrow. Who in **** ever heard of selling a car in Canada without one?? We don't get it that bad, but I'm a wuss when it comes to warm cars in the morning.

I am working on a way to set up a remote starter on my '01 Jeep TJ with a standard tranny. I never use the parking brake and since I blew out a brake line in the fall, I am going to replace all the brake lines with new and install line lock on the fronts. Then I would just have to bypass the safety switch on the clutch pedal and park it in neutral with the LL on and it should start. I HOPE.

That should work OK...until the first time you DO forget to leave it in neutral.

You can have some of mine if you want.. we got over a foot the last time, now it's right at the freezing point and raining, windy. Miserable weather to say the least.

I am hoping for similar results here. But our winter has a couple more months, and we often get large snows in march.

Any comments on how well the Aquiline MPC chains are working out for you,
James??

They work extremely well. in the ice and snows we have had.. Like night and day difference. Not only was I able to get back up the hill that on a previous snow I slid down backwards with all tires spinning forward. I was able to actually pull the plow up the hill! I had planed on going back up and plowing down, but I just kept going and plowed uphill.

Do you have much snow now James? We have about 30" in the bush, not really good for getting around. I kept the trails clean over the winter, so collecting firewood has not been too bad.

It has warmed up the last few days, and all the snow I have now is my plow mounds and windrows at the side of the road.. the rest has melted.
