The Wicked grapples have a lot of followers, seem to be well built and suited for the compact and maybe medium sized tractors. I would stay with what EA advertises them for and not put them on a large tractor.

I got the EA 72 inch wicked root grapple for my 52 hp Kubota. This grapple is no lie, very heavy duty, and pops out small trees like there's no tomorrow. Runs through the ground cleaning up small stuff very efficiently, with little soil disturbance. Highly recommended. View attachment 346343

Great thread for me. Dealer is delivering my L5740 this week, after they install the extra front hydraulics and I'm "grappling" with which unit to get. This has been helpful. What do you all think are good choices for 57HP, moving brush and some small trees? I have 50 acres, but only about 8 is woods. The rest is a combo of hay fields (which I sell to local farmer who cuts/bales/moves himself), a 2 acre meadow and food plots for deer and turkeys.
Dealer suggested one of the WR Long grapples, but I'm not sure I need to spend $3K +/-.
I do know I want one with the QA.
Thanks.
I got my Monster Grapple from eBay, It was recommended by the Bobcat dealer.

Just remember it is the loader that is popping out the trees. Any grapple, including much smaller and less expensive ones, can do the same job. No one should assume they need a grapple as wide as their standard bucket. Indeed, for popping out trees, a narrow grapple is preferred as it is easier to stick under the roots and curl up. Loaders with lift capacities of over 3000 lbs have been used successfully with very light duty grapples. If you think about it, a grapple made of 3/8" mild steel has far more structural strength than any standard bucket. Small is beautiful.

Right, these would be good diggers. They have a 42" opening to boot, more than most of the smaller grapples. Favor makes Skidsteer and large loader grapples, so they are not an unknown.

If I a going along cleaning up brush I want the grapple to be as wide as my front tires. I don't want to run over something and damage a tire. If I am cleaning up roots I can do 50% more work with my 6' grapple than what a 4' will do. For my uses a wider grapple has not hindered me in any way.
