The pics below are from what I recently had fabricated by my local welder to attach to my 18" Kioti backhoe bucket. It is essentially a 'hoe bra' for use when one wants to have a flat edge INSTEAD of teeth to scrape ditches, smooth out areas one can't with the bucket when the teeth are uncovered. It attaches via one bolt hole on each side of the bucket. I have only primed it prior to paint application. It is a modded and improved version of a similar bra posted in another thread a while back. :)

Thanks! I will when I get to my hoe chores, hopefully sooner than later. I'm in the middle of clearing a bunch of trees and need my winch and grapple on right now.

Nice mod CM! Funny, this week I put in a 75' ditch along side our road. Now I want one! Maybe there will be one under the tree this Xmas!

Yes, that is what I need to do to the quasi ditch at my flip house next door BEFORE the winter storms render it more useless than it is now!
Hopefully you'll find what you're looking for under a tree, so you can use it in the ditch.

I have been thinking of doing something like this. Your idea is simpler than the one I had. I have been been looking for an excuse to fire up my TIG and get in some MUCH needed practice... thanks for the idea/excuse. :)

Great idea. Putting this on my to do list. I have been unbolting teeth when I have to. Your idea is much faster and I bet bucket will hold more.
Thanks
Scott

Ow! That sounds painful- I didn't know Rednecks could unbolt their teeth!:D
Rednecks HAVE teeth?!:confused2::eek:

My town in VT is known for inventing the toothbrush- any other town would have named it the teethbrush!:confused3:

Yikes! That work was done by a professional welder? Is his other full time job drinking?

Yes, as a matter of fact, copious amounts I'm told!:drink:
What's wrong with the results? It's my LOCAL welder, not a NASA space shuttle critical component engineer?!:confused2::eek:

Nice concept and a useful tool, but those are some ugly welds considering this guy is supposed to be a pro. Not saying it wont hold up, just ugly, and sometimes ugly counts.;)

Who said my welder is a pro? Not me. I just give him stuff to do and it gets done cheap enough.
With this critical crowd I think I'll keep my ideas in house from now on.:confused3:
I do note the only criticism is coming from some alternative tractor universe guys.

I didnt say it was a bad idea. I would however expect better quality if I payed somebody for the work, unless I paid in beer prior to the work being started;).

I know, it's a GREAT idea! The welder does drink, and the result of the work was satisfactory- yes, I agree the welds look sloppy, but the results should hold up for what I need it to do.
Let's see if anyone can guess what it cost me.

I had a similar idea, but wanted to back fill ditches and actually grade with it. I don't call mine a bra mount, but a glove mount and put all 4 teeth in the glove.

Yes, I read you're thread with interest. Nice work. I need my bucket bra to do more detail work in smaller spaces. Your glove is better for what you're doing- ponds, etc. Yours is sort of like a ratchet rake, but without the teeth.
