I'm gonna be grillin' some burgers in a little while. Too bad I don't know how to make buns with cornbread; that sounds good to me.:D

I think Lou is onto something. The first person to perfect the process for cornbread hamburger buns is gonna get rich. The race is on. . . :D

As much as I love cornbread, maybe I'll try some experimenting! It would be neat to get rich, doing something fun! And I can always eat the failures!

I been working all afternoon on a good recipe for cornbread hamburger buns.. but didn't come up with one.. so I just made some sweet cornbread and open a can of bush pinto bean added a little of my home made hot sauce, fried a few tators and had a meal..
and stole this off the internet::shocked:
Ingredients for a hamburger cornbread bun..
• 2 eggs
•3/4 cup dairy free milk
•1/4 cup canola oil
•1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
•1 teaspoon vanilla
•1 cup cornmeal
•3/4 cup Brown Rice Flour mix *
• 1/4 cup sugar {or maple syrup}
•2 teaspoon baking powder
•1 1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum
•1 teaspoon salt

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°. Grease the hamburger roll pan with cooking spray.
2.Beat the eggs in a large bowl, until fluffy. Add in the milk, oil, cider vinegar and vanilla. {if substituting maple syrup, add it with the wet ingredients}
3.In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: cornmeal, brown rice flour mix, sugar, baking powder, xanthan gum and salt.
4.Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mix fully.
5.Scoop the batter into the prepared pan.
6.Bake about 15 mins, for 4″ rolls, until tops begin to brown

not sure what xanthan gum is.. but it much be important are they wouldn't put it in the buns.. :laughing:Lou

I tried a homemade corndog recipe once that came from internet. Batter similar to cornbread, you put it in glass and dunked the weenie in it then fried. Maybe you could try the same by putting a pattie inside batter and deep frying.

Lou; Xanthan gum is used in several recipes for breads, for those that are gluten intolerant. It adds body to the bread.

Lou- Your Cornyburger is a great idea if it's near as good as Corny Dogs at the State Fair of Texas.
