FG19, I think you would like it for its versatility, another weapon in the shed:laughing: I saw one for sale at Lowes in Decatur, so the one by you probably has one you can look at. Starting to see them more frequently, I guess they are getting popular again.

EF, 1" is something to be proud of around here!!

Jim, thanks! It is "work", but as you know , the enjoyable kind. Kinda shocked you got stuck, looks real muddy?? get that much rain?? Obviously the "apple" didn't fall far from the tree, you proved it getting stuck too:laughing:

Found the problem with my AC - the condenser fan motor is not turning. That would cause it to initially blow cool but gradually blow warmer. Too bad everything is closed today. Inside temp 79 and rising. Now I just have to find a 1/5 hp GE motor somewhere.

We got an inch and a half from this morning's thunderstorm. I do not even see a change in pond levels. I can hardly tell now that we had rain this morning, except in the rain guage.

My grandson and I went Mule riding this morning and he got it stuck. I managed to get it out and then promptly stuck it really good myself. I brought my tractor and pulled it out with him driving. For a 13 yo kid, he did a good job of driving while I pulled him up a very narrow ridge on the hillside.
Oh yes, the walk of shame. I did that a couple of weeks ago when the ZTM found a new hole to drop a drive wheel in.

We are still in a drought Dennis,, This is a area that get 60 plus inches a year.. I don't think we have had 40 inches in the last two year together.. My fields are very dry,, The rain we have got is quick and hard,, but the next day you can't tell it.. Need a two or three day slow rain,, Lou

Does the fan turn? will it start if you push it with a stick or screw driver? Could be a bad run capacitor. Had to Edit: When I replaced my start capacitor, they set me up with a single capacitor that starts the compressor and fan motor. Took me longer to put the top on then it did to swap out the capaciter

Dang Lou, I though some of the coastal areas may have been able to make up some deficit. I had "heard" that a few are getting some hay down there?

Lou;

You and I need to make a road trip to jinman's with buckets and take back some of our rain!

And, bring your fiddle, and I'll bring my guitar, and we'll make sure the beer is COLD! :D

farmgirl we will need more than buckets.:). we need a storm and there is a tropical development:shocked: in the gulf but it looks like it will head to Florida because of this cool front that blew thru.. Lou

Well come here, little hurricane. Come on now. That's a good little hurricane.

Who'd have thought we'd ever be calling for a hurricane to hit our state? Of course, I am far enough inland, that rain is about all that I could get from it.

Maybe not a hurricane, but a tropical Depression with loads of rain would be nice!

Don, you probably just need a new capacitor. Call Jim's heating and air conditioning. My neighbor works for him and says a normal call out goes for $65 and that pays for fixing most things that don't take more than a half an hour. He says the average capacitor job is usually less than a C note total. They may charge you a bit more because you are so far out in the country, once you get past your place your getting closer to the next city...:)

Dennis, your garden looks great. I just bought me a new hoop hoe. I've used one in the past and they work good. I really want a new small Honda cultivator/tiller but the hoop hoe was only $15 at lowes and the Honda is $350 at the other box store. This year I planted my rows widely spaced so that I can run my 2' tiller between the rows. I HATE NUTSEDGE AND DALLIS GRAS.

Kyle, I've been looking probably at the same Honda cultivator and you're right, that would be nice to have. Those stirrup hoes save allot of work!!

   / Texas Spring/Summer Thread #1,837
Thanks for the contact Kyle. Yep, it's got to be the fan capacitor or the fan motor. The cool front hit just in time inside temp is only 80˚ tonight.

I have been welcoming hurricanes for two years now. I no longer think it odd to do so. This will make the third year, but so far no luck.

Dennis, your garden looks great, especially for somebody who has to work for a living. We retired folks have a big advantage. Your squash and zucs look very healthy.

We got a nice mess of beans this morning and my grandson picked about 10 ripe cherry tomatoes. We also got a couple more yellow squash.

I've sure got a lot of purple coneflowers on my place. I'll soon have lots of purple gayfeathers too.

Jim-- Looks like you haven't had enough practice "Driving in the mud" lately. A little more time spent in the mud and you'll be able to navigate just fine.
