I got about .06, I saw the radar and I figured you would have got something?

Don, I had watched a show on Discovery I think it was. They said they suspect a "gene" since several of the Egyptian mummies had signs of heart disease?? Is that the show you watched too?

Wow, we just had a .2" shower!!!

No not Discovery, but close, this was on Foxnews or CNN site. It said since they were close to eating what we now call the Mediterranean Diet and the Mediterranean Diet is supposed to be healthy healthy so it must be caused by something other than food. I don't know why they didn't come to the conclusion that maybe the Mediterranean Diet is not all that heart healthy. If they were wealthy enough to be mummied they probably ate rich foods and were good hunters. (or paid someone to hunt since meat is the preferred food of choice) The gene was probably there also just waiting for fertilizer. (Just my opinion of course, but since everyone's guessing, that's mine - And yours FG19?):D

edit: Lary Husten wrote about it - I hit one of the possible 3 causes:
"Nor can a dietary effect be excluded, despite what we know of life in ancient Egypt. Princess Ahmose-Meryet-Amon was from a noble family, her father, Seqenenre Tao II, the last pharaoh of the 17th Dynasty. So it’s likely that her diet was not that of the common Egyptian. As a royal, she would have eaten more luxury foods – more meat, butter and cheese."

Kyle;

I make a salsa similar to txdon's. I do make in larger quantities though, since am usually entertaining during the peak growing season.

I do not seed jalapenos or tomatoes, or cook anything. I do hand dice, because I found that I could do that as quickly as a food processor, by the time everything was sized right to fit into the processor. I prefer a bit chunkier, as it brings out more flavor. If you don't like the heat, you can seed and remove veins from the peppers. I like the heat, so leave them in and add extra, and sometimes serrano and habanero peppers too. (If you add habaneros, go easy, until you see how it changes things.) One habanero can go a LONG way, if you are not hotter than the pepper! :laughing:

Don, you don't suppose it was the sedentary lifestyle of royalty that contributed, do you? I think SeDS might be indicated in the rich and pampered.

Kyle, to have the best cilantro, you have to plant it in multiple plantings about 2 weeks apart. It's best when young and tender before it blooms and seeds. You can delay it a bit by pulling off bloom pods. BTW: If it matures, dry it and collect the seeds. They are the spice coriander.

So glad that FOXnews or CNN is now your medical authority. :rolleyes: I have sent my thoughts in a PM. Should anyone wish to discuss further, that might be better than Hijacking a thread. :D

Better luck next time, txdon! :drink:

We are under a flood watch. How can it flood if it doesn't rain? :duh:

Williamson Co. is in a watch also. I'm watching but but not seeing any flood...but then I live on a hill. Three heavy rains today...about 1 minute each, less than .1 each time followed immediately by sunshine. I still don't think it rains during a drought:thumbdown:

We had some rain today, but I wouldn't have known it if my wife hadn't told me it was raining. When it was over, I just may have had as much as 0.01" in the gauge.:( But now they've upped our chances for tonight from 40% to 60% so I guess we can hope.

The sun is shining here, so will need a few more clouds and then some to get rain, or floods! Y'all have seen my stock tank. If I got 10 inches overnight, it might add a decent amount of water to it, but wouldn't fill it. :(
