Not sure I'd be good at going from 376 to 16 acres. If I ever move, it will be onto 375-500 acres! I'll need to win the lottery first though. :confused3:

Yeah we miss the land, long story:laughing:

One good thing about removing a years crop is any diseases or other crop problems.

Jim did your friend have a history of heart disease or was the heart attack his first symptom?

That would make a funny picture if you were trying to mow them down with a push mower.

Bowie NWS shows 20 minutes of 34 F here this morning. I didn't cover anything in the garden, so I'm hoping nothing got 'burned' by the cold. Most of the night it was around 36 F.

Our killdeer family and our geese are hanging around. The two geese showed back up yesterday morning and honked more than an Italian cab driver.

The killdeer family of two adults and four little ones have stayed around. The little birds are now half the size of the adults. They really like my bluebonnet patch and my newly planted grassy area. The geese eat corn in the morning, take a swim in our pond, and then go to the grassy area to eat fresh new grass. It's funny to see the geese and the killdeers running around the same areas.

Went turkey hunting this morning and it was crisp!!, Toms where really whoopin it up, but as has been for the last 7 years, they aint cutt'n through the woods for a girl:laughing: and I aint jump'n no fence either:laughing: If I could find the land owner, it would be a 10 minute hunt:thumbsup: I have them at my deer feder during rifle (deer) season, but rather call'm in, much more "funner"

Checked my garden with much fear, looks like everything survived at this point YEAH!!!

75% OFF for fruit trees, shade trees and annual plants at the Decatur Lowes!!!!!! Had some beautiful Red Maples on sale too (same 75%), I may have to go back for one of those!!!

Bought 2 pears, apricots and plums, figured for $4.95 what the heck.

Also picked up a couple of grapes to try them on for size. Was able to find a Jen Ark blackberries to go with the Brazos I have.

I loaded up a couple of calves and hauled them to the market today. After that, went out to First Monday, in Weatherford. A couple of the vendors had really nice tomato and pepper plants, in 4 inch pots, for $1.00/6pack. I seriously considered buying a 6 pack, but figured I have plenty of pepper and tomato plants, if all stay good, and will just concentrate on getting the okra going good now.

I have noticed a couple of my tomato plants showing signs of frost on some of their leaves. Only about 3 plants though. I hope that is all I have to show from the cold night-time temps, and that we can go forward from here.
