Sounds like she could be a real tightwad.
I suggest you move on with your life.....
until she aproaches you with the 2K and asks you to do it for her.
No disrepsect to her but you have things to do and your time is valuable, she does not need the deck and it's a springtime job anyway.....no worries.

Good advice...and anyway I want to enlarge this deck of mine by six feet to the left of the current long railing and add another set of steps by the downspout. It will only be 96 square feet larger, and since all those people here tell me they can build an 8X8 deck in ONE DAY, I am sure this project will take no more than a day and a half...anybody here want to volunteer to help?

Love your dock box, nice deck too. would you say that box keeps things dry in inclement weather?

At your service..... I'll be looking for the airfare or email me the boarding passes. I like to fly Southwest....direct flights too if you don't mind.
Oh and I'm not sleeping in the basement either....I hear you have the occasional mole that visits down there.

The deck box is plenty big, keeps contents dry, and is also mole proof as long as the lid is shut. So no basement for you !!!

'''Have never heard of the roofing membrane trick...you must be referring to that black self-stick/self seal stuff I use on roof valleys and edges.''''
I would say yes. rubber membrane underlayment/ snow and ice shield. etc.I find it a good way to use up the smaller pieces..

Yes, quite common around here. Like Grace Ice and Water Shield. But I've also used up extra shingles or rolled roofing too. A tailgate slammer might even use underlayment paper (tar paper).
