Detached or attached garage?

I have both,wife parks in the attached garage and makes me park in the pole barn,LOL.coobie

My choice would to be a breezeway/mudroom between . Friend of mine built his with a area to let snow covered items melt add drain away.

GEEZ You guys park cars in your garages , Don't Let my wife know that...LOL Mine is a 24x26 detached, Heated with wood and I couldn't get my car or truck in there if I tried. I Really need a bigger building but winning the lottery isn't working out .

I recall when the floor in my 24X36 had cured back after it was built, I set three shelving units in the corner and wheeled in my push mower and snow blower, looked around and thought "I will NEVER need any more apace than this has" well today the garage is packed full as it the entire upper storage area (about 600 square feet) I built above the trusses. Sometimes I go out there and wonder "where did I get all this s**t...."

My mom and dad built a brick rancher in 57 that had a drive through car port that was attached to 10' wide porch that led into the side door entering the den...
That worked out really well...
I currently have an older 53 built brick rancher that does not have a car port or garage...
About 15 years ago I purchased an inexpensive metal car port that has worked really well as a cheap option...
My house has a hip roof and to add a car garage on the end would require a lot of work...
If I ever built a house I would have an attached garage to just store the vehicles and then have a large workshop...
I currently inherited my dad's garage that he stored his motor home in...
I am converting it into a really nice workshop...
It is 45' long, 20' wide, and 16' long...

Irrespective of costs (construction & insurance) and having experienced attached garage/detached/no garage....

In an ideal world I would have two attached garages. One to park cars and cars only. The other would be my play room. There's something to be said for strolling out to my heated/cooled shop on a dark/cold/snowy winter or blazing summer night to spend a half hour tinkering on the project car/Jeep/etc without first having to turn on the heat/AC, wait several hours and then bundle up to walk out there. Kind of eliminates the casual relaxing playtime. I no longer have a garage attached to my home that I can tinker in and as a result my old Jeep project has languished virtually untouched for 7 years because doing the simplest of work to it is a project in itself.

You have a good eye, own a '94 Airsteam 34 foot MH and do tow the Saturn. I am the third owner, the first two also used it to tow Saturns but they were not very mechanically smart...when the MH was new it only came with a 2,000 pound hitch and they never even thought to look at the rating...I replaced it with a 3.500 pound hitch. Tow rating with the 454 and 4.63 rear gears is over 6,000 pounds and Airstream installed a 2,000 pound hitch...penny pinching.

Yea, the BlueOx caught my eye and then spotted the saturn logo on the fender. I have an 07 gasser that I pull my CRV with to snowbird every winter. We enjoy the trip down with the pets more with a place for them to be comfortable and I can just relax and drive. See you on RVnet.com :steeringwheel:
