Iseki TX1510
Just bought an Iseki TX1510 and reading User manuals etc etc. Some people are recommending that we get a PTO overrrun clutch/free wheel extension
as we will predominantly be using a rotavator attachment does anyone have any experience/thoughts on this please ?

Hi, Nice to meet you! Glad to see that you have an Iseki TX1510. That is a great little tractor, and they are built like tanks. You have a non-live PTO on the tractor, however I would definitely use the PTO over-run clutch if you are going to be running a mower on the rear. With the rotovator, you should not need one. If you need any information regarding your rotovator, or the tractor, I have the service manual with diagrams. What model is your rotovator? Below is a video explaining the concept, and I also attached the specifications for your tractor that tells you the PTO speed while your tractor is running. It also show the tractor speeds in each gear, and some other useful information. The only thing that I saw that does not appear accurate, is the tractor is equipt for Cat 1 implements, as long as they have enough clearance between your tires. I would certainly consider adding weight to the front of the tractor as well if you are using a rotary mower on the rear. I have also filled my front tires with liquid balast, windscreen washer fluid. Do you have any photos of your tractor? I hope that this helps a bit!

Mitch thank you so much for all that and the trouble you have gone to to help. The tractor is hopefully being delivered on Tuesday when we can obviously have a much closer look at it all and the rotavator. We've watched quite a few videos on YouTube including the one you included in your post and they are very useful. We also managed to get hold of a user manual from a company in Belgium so thats been a big help too. We've a Buldog 282 Loader on the front so I'm hoping that may negate the need for countereighting? Don't know too much about the rotavator until it arrives apart from its only been used once and has the L shape tines rater than the samurai sword straight ones. Expect more questions however !!!!
Thanks again
Peter

Hi Mitch tractor and rotavator now with us. Rotavator is a US Make but no labels as to brand etc. Just wanted to ask do we use the same oil in the PTO box and gearbox on the rotavator which I think is SAE80 or 90 ?

/ Iseki TX 1510 #8
You should be abe to use 80w 90 gear oil, or if you can find it, straight 80 or 90 weight oil. As long as it is rated as gear oil, and not automotive weight oil. I use 80w 90 gear oil in my PTO, and it will work for the rotavator as well. If there is oil in it, you may want to change it out for fresh gear oil, because you don't know how old it is. Glad to hear that you received your tractor and rotavator! Post a photo if you get a chance, and i'll see if I can help you find out more information about the rotavator. I would also change the tractor oil, oil filter, check the lubrication point, and change the front oil in the front gear case, and check your air filter and coolant. If you need any information from the manual, please feel free to ask, and I 'll post whatever I have for you..Congrats!

Thats a very sharp looking tractor! I am jealous, you have received a very nice setup. I looks like it was completely remanufactured, and you have heavy duty agricultural tires installed as well. I believe that I have found the rotavator, and the manual, listed below. The manual is below is linked to a PDF file on the page, and reads: product manual. Thanks for the photos, and post some more once your start using it around your farm! Glad to hear that it is working out so well! I need to purchase a rotavator myself, however I bought a single plow this year, and used that to turn the garden beds, and then used a hand held, gas powered cultivator. I like the stone walls you have. I wish that I had stone walls similar to that, however ours in New England, are just stacked stone walls around the property from the original settlers around the late 1700's. You may want to considered having your rear tires filled with liquid balast if they are not all ready to counterweight the front end loader when you are carrying a load. Well, great tractor, and enjoy! Please let me know if you need any additional information from the service manual. I would be glad to provide it on here for you.

Thanks Mitch just a bit concerned that the rotavator states 25hp and our tractor is only 15 - having said that used it yesterday as i mentioned previously and worked absolutely fine at the lowest PTO speed (540)

re my last post bit confused as to HP some places say that our Iseki TX1510 is 17HP and others 15 (or even 14.8). The other thing which perhaps someone can advise on is manufacture date - info which has been requested by Insurance Companies

Your tractor's model number helps give a breakdown: the "15" portion indicates PTO horsepower. Since the engine has to spin a lot of drivetrain through dragging lubricant, power the water pump and generator drive, spin the cooling fan, and so forth, it is actually more powerful than that, probably about 17-18 hp. A common rule of thumb on compact diesel machines is 1.2 times the PTO horsepower to get engine horsepower.

According to Ed Krampitz, a compiler of Mitsubishi information, the K3B engine delivers 16-18 horsepower at the flywheel. So depending on how Iseki specified engines, that is in the proper range.

Tractor data.com says the TX1510 was produced 1978-1981. Sometimes there are date stamps on the wheels. Barring that, one could estimate based on serial number, possibly. Let us know what you find.

Many thanks indeed for the information. The serial number is 000945 I will have a look at the wheels as well

/ Iseki TX 1510 #16
Hi,
I did find this information, so it appears that your tractor was built in 1981. I hope this helps a bit..

Example serial number list:
Year Number
1980 501

1981 879 <<< 900
1982 1034
1983 2103

Example: if your serial number is 900, then your tractor was built in 1981.
The list only shows the number from the first tractor built in each year. Unless you happen to have the first first tractor off the production line, then your particular number will not be on the list. Your number will lie between two listed numbers.

Glad I could help! I have heard that when some tractors are refurbished, especially in Vietnam, they start the hour meter over from the time it was refurbished. That may be the case, or it is possible that you have a very low hour tractor. My grandfather has a John Deere that he bought new in the 1980's that only has about 290 hours on it, so it is possible..however you have a bulldog loader and I believe that they install that brand a lot when they do the refurbs in Vietnam, so it is very possible that they started the hour meter over. You have a very nice tractor either way, and mine predates the hour meter installs, so I am not sure how many hours I have on my Iseki, but I'm sure it is quite high. How is the rotavator working out? I want to purchase one this summer, however I need a post hole digger and a wood splitter first.

Hi Mitch thanks again for your help. The Rotavator is the 4 foot wide one of the type you found for me and is just brilliant. Our land having been glacial is full of stone but the roti isn't bothered by stones of any size and there are some big ones. Still a fair bit to do but having done previous areas with a small petrol driven hand rotavator I wish we'd got the tractor and rotavator much sooner. It rotavates to a much deeper depth than the hand one. Thinking of getting a rake attachment to rake up the stones and weeds in due course but its making best use of limited cash
