Exactly this.

Our 1 Ton dually is a good example. We wanted diesel, automatic transmission and heated seats (Does wonders for a back after all day at a horse show, day after day followed by long drives).

That wasn't an available pattern. So, we got DVD, XM, Leather, and sunroof confused2 at no charge, just so the dealer could get us in the truck.

(btw, the sunroof is a PITA)

Why? We have one in the wife's Escape and it is great.

The mechanism has broken once, just out of warranty, but goodwilled in (otherwise a $2K fix) and it's loud compared to our previous trucks.

Bummer, we have had good luck with the ones that we have had in our Escapes. Not that we use them a lot and usually at night, but we have enjoyed having them and noise hasn't been a problem.

Before I bought my tractor, I borrowed an older Mahindra 3505-DI gear drive 2wd that would pull anything. I liked the work it would do but hated using the old gear drive trans. I also borrowed a newer Kubota B3030. It was nice to have a cab and A/C. It was too light to do anything but cut grass. The whine from the hydrostat drove me nuts. It was good at cutting grass and that was about it. I bought an LS R4047. I got the shuttle shift trans. I like the gear spread and the ease of shifting. I also like the almost same speed forward or reverse of the shuttle shift. It doesn't pull as good as the Mahindra, but I will take that trade off for the grass cutting I will do with it and the all around use with the FEL. I bought my tractor from a small dealer. The salesman is the mechanic, and I like that fact. He knows what he sells and fixes all of them.
