Oil & Fuel EZ Way to Refuel?

The flexible funnel tube from one of my 5 gallon cans is at the bottom of my fuel tank. It fell off the can and into the tractor tank one day. Doh!!

Tractor supply has a pump that is about 39 dollars and all you do is hook up to battery and pump just like at the gas station.

what i did was make a long cable and put a cigarette lighter adapter on it and plug into tractor and pump away about 15 gal per minute

That is remarkably cheap. Even HF charges about $120 for a 12V gas station style pump system. You sure it isn't $139???

I will load it on the trailer, boom it down, drive to town and fill it up. Bring it back home and unload it with the FEL. I will use a 12 volt transfer pump. I can take it off site if I ever need to.

I just use a 55 gallon drum. I have one of those el cheapo harbor freight moving dollies under it so I can roll it around in the garage. Cheap and works well. Plus it's got the right size hole for my pump to screw into it.

Looks like we've pretty well run the gambit on fuel refilling methods, so I would like to temporarily hijack the thread to ask a related question.

Some of you have mentioned storing your fuel for a year or more. I would like to know if it ever goes bad. I realize it has been sitting far below the earth in some form for eons, but once it has been refined and mixed with additives, is there any sort of shelf life for diesel fuel or gasoline for that matter?

Yep. I have the HF version which combined with a TSC filter and a 30 gal poly tank I got from a car wash work very well. I think I got it for just under $100 by using a 20% discount and sale.

I did not like the new trigger type spouts, but found a good use for them.
Ran a chain down with a U-bolt on the end. Hook the U into the handle of the fuel can and drive under. Pull the trigger. Going to try to add photo.

i hope my mom never gets wind of this. or i can see me pulling up a bunch of cans in the barn. if i ever go out of town, or go back down with some medical probs.
