I finally pulled the trigger on a new Kubota RTV 1140CPX and I love it! It arrived yesterday afternoon and I have already put 2 hours on the clock. The headlights are pretty impressive in my dark woods. I got a great deal from Farmbelt Equipment and felt the RTV was my best option out of the UTV's I considered. Enjoy the pictures!

Very nice, I look at those things every time I go to the Kubota dealership.

Congratulations!!! It's cold here today but when Grands came we had to drive it back up the mountain (hill) and down to the creek. I asked my neighbor if he had been to Barlows yet, he said he just got back from Barlows and bought a RTV900 for delivery I believe Friday. It was the RTV900 that was in Barlows showroom/office/parts dept when I bought my 1140.

Here are pictures of my top. I bought a 2ft x 4ft piece of plexiglass yesterday for $35 which I'm going to make a windshield for it. Plan to put strips of velcro up bar and on plexiglas .

Great pictures, John. I haven't decided what / if I'm going to do for a top or windshield. I mostly need a top for the hot summer days so I'll have to think about it in the spring. I'm sure your neighbor is going to enjoy his 900 as much as we enjoy the 1140. I haven't had a chance to convert it to the long bed yet but I plan to try that this weekend.
I just noticed that your camo has the dark brush guard and my orange has the lighter color.

Nice Lawrence! I can just bet you'll be thinking up all kinds of new jobs to do with it.

Congratulations...you will enjoy this machine.

I had the dealer install the factory canopy on mine. The summers in east Texas are also very hot so I considered the top a necessity, not an option.

Nice. I like your top. I reapplied mine today using velcro to attach it (The bottom pad for a tent) and I added the windshield with velcro. The windshield is 24"x48"x1/4" plexiglas. At the bottom of the bars the 48" just barely made it but the top bars taper down to 46". Need to grind off upper corners of windshield.
Anyone: Any great ideas of the best easiest way to grind off some plexiglas corners?
Also need mirror that will clamp on roll bar. Any suggestions? Cheap. I can find the $50 to $75 ones myself.

Plexiglass corners:
Yeah, try a belt sander. Slowly roll it from parallel with an edge to cutting into the corner. Rough in the radius then try to perfect it when you get close with less pressure. Careful not to stop movement or you will make it flat, unless that is what you need. Might have to file the finish if you are really picky like me. Good luck:thumbsup:

Thanks. I have a benchtop belt sander and the hand belt sander. One of them should do the job.

The 1140 is a nice UTV but I feel half the machine is the cab with heat and a/c. Extra people can ride in the box but the cab is by far the best i have seen so far. It's my major reason for the Kubota brand purchase.

Nice rig for sure congrats ,John Thomas as for a mirror Gander mountain has one for 20 bucks or if you like cheap fine a junk yard with some old [ie bread del. type trucks] with 2 mirrors mounted on one arm. use a 2" rubber lined wire harness clamp around roll bar you got a mirror. or while you are at the auto parts store for the clamp buy a new Velvac mirror about 10 bucks. have fun

Congratulations Lawrence!!! I've been waiting for these pictures. LOL

Sure is a nice looking machine. What's interesting is how it will change your entire life, and how you go about doint things. I even use my Mule for just sitting and watching the sunset. It's a portable sofa!!

I never looked at the 2 seaters. I'm curiousl what it's like to dump the bed and how easy it is to change configurations. Will the rear screen get in the way of dumping if you add a roof?

Thanks. I bought a mirror from Kmart that had some arms for clamping over another mirror. Couldn't get it to work. Returned for refund. Bought a couple of really cheap mirrors from O'Reilleys yesterday and going to see if I can do something with them. I know about the wire harness clamps but I couldn't remember or didn't know what they are called. I'll get some of them and with your other suggestions and velcro I'll fix some thing. Thanks again.

It's easy to go back and forth between seating configurations. It's very fast with two people but I can do it by myself pretty quickly now that I have a little practice.

The rear screen slides forward behind the first seat when in the single row configuration. The dump bed is all hydraulic. I haven't tested it yet for maximum weight, too new as of now. But I haven't even slowed it down with loads of firewood.

EThogfarmer,

Loos like we're neighbors. Kind of. I'm up near Winona and work in Tyler most of the time, but have clients down in Flint, Bullard, Mixon and Whitehouse.

Do you raise hogs or is that a joke because you have so many wild hogs on your land?

Yes indeed, I have so many feral hogs that I tell people that I am a hog farmer...and that I must be a very, very good one because I have more and more every year. And they keep me busy repairing all the damage they do; it gives me lots of valuable seat time on my tractors.

And we are neighbors of sorts, I live southwest of Bullard.

I know you have enjoyed your Mule, Eddie, and you didn't help matters when I was trying to talk myself out of this thing!

As EThogfarmer pointed out, unlike the Mule where the screen is attached to the bed, the RTV screen is independent and slides forward when the bed is extended. The screen does not raise and lower with the bed. I'll plan to get some detailed pictures of it. I'm currently satisfied with the hydraulic dump bed.

After a long weekend of enjoying this machine, I'm confident I made the right decision. We had lots of family around and they all enjoyed riding and a select few even got in the drivers seat. It was an ubelieveable feeling of satisfaction to take so many people (especially older relatives) to places they had never been able to go before. And we got to do it at the same time with four seats!
