Oil & Fuel JD4600 Oil Getting in Diesel Tank

Curious how the injector pump is lubed. Could this be source for higher pressure lubrication oil to get into the low pressure side of the injection pump.??

Does your injectors have a low pressure return line going back to the fuel tank from the injectors?

I know it is possible for fuel to get into the oil from the injection pump, so I guess theoretically it is possible. I have never seen oil get into fuel this way though. It would be nice to see a cut-away view of pump to see how it is lubed. It does have a oil presure line feeding it I believe.

It is possible for the lube oil for the fuel pump is getting into the fuel return line and then to the fuel tank but that is rare as hens teeth. Usually it is diesel that leaks into the oil.

Are you positive its oil from the crankcase? I would think that would mix with the diesel and you would never know. I know a lot of people who add motor oil to their diesel tanks on truck thinking it will lubricate injectors. I am not saying that is good. I also know most people would suggest 2 cycle oil, but these guys use 30 weight.

It could also be algae if the tractor is not used much.

I too wonder if it is your fuel supply, try some from another source.
