2305 for hay ride use ?

Anyone with a 2305 or similar size tractor ever use it to pull small hay wagon for hayrides? I am thinking around a 6'or7' by 14' haywagon with wood deck and sides, pulling on flat ground;no hills. Probably 10-12 people on board per trip,maybe less if neccessary. Any thoughts on 2305 handling something like this? LMK looking for a new activity for this fall in our town park.

It should work, the trailer and number of people will be a good pull. But you certainly won't break the machine because you can pull a box blade filled with gravel while it digs through a gravel/dirt road. The only issues you might have is traction in loose/wet dirt with a trailer full of people. But otherwise, enjoy and happy Halloween!

You should not have any problem at all. I have a Mahindra 2415 which is only a little bit bigger than your 2305. The engine is rated at 24 horse. I tow a loaded (with hay) trailer of the same size in high rant with small hills on pavement. If not on pavement, you probably want to stick to low range. You may consider leaving it it four wheel drive because that will give you brakes on the front if needed.

thanks for reply I could adjust amt of people based on ability to pull. I figured in my head since wagon rolls,should be able to haul the load . and I would be on flat ground,grass and a gravel road at one end of park. Ive pulled full size station wagons on a flat lot with my 107 cub cadet, and seen garden tractors haul 7-8 kids in those "tractor trains" made out of barrels and wheels. gonna try go see a hay wagon this fri or sat for slae about 60 miles away, thats what got me interested in this whole idea.

It should pull it better than it will stop it, and no I wouldn't use 4x4 on pavement. My concern would be the liability risk.

It was said the last post about liability....

We use a truck that is in our business name to cover liability, make sure you have insurance, it only takes once and it is very expensive if someone even twists an ankle and gets an ambulance chasing attorney..

I have a Kubota 7510, the frame is bigger but the engine is about the same. I have pulled my 6x14' trailer with ten to twelve people, half were kids and half were adults. It pulls it quite easily. I keep the rpms about 1800-2000. You will only need 2wd unless the ground is soft. We did this for fall fest at our church. Be careful cause those kids get crazy around stuff like that. I am always very careful not to let one fall off and under the tires. Have fun and you will be amazed at how little fuel it uses.

I've been doing an annual hay ride for the last 8 yrs with the neighborhood kids and considered it last year, but decided against it simply because of the hills. It'll pull just fine, the stopping is the problem...but you should be fine on flat ground.

this would be for a boro dept event, so I can check on them covering it -insurance wise. They cover any of their other events in park. and ground is flat and lots of room/space for turning stopping,etc.

don't do it. My boss had a big scare pulling a bunch of Special needs kids with his 790. He was going down a hill on gravel and didn't have enough weight to keep that from pushing him down hill. He had the brakes locked up and was being pushed downhill partly sideways. He was lucky to get his bucket down and get it slowed down. All the Special Needs kids thought it was GREAT fun and wanted to do it again. My boss was white as a sheet and all he wanted to do was have a beer. I've never seen him drink before that or after.
