Does anyone still call them that? Haven't heard that term in decades.
There used to be a Mass/N.H. chain of overstock/surplus stores called Building 19, they had some rather humorous flyers that'd come in the mail

I remember those. Each store had a different fraction for a name, like Building 19-1/4.

do you mean those cheapo sandals that are held on by your toes? I still call them that.

We used to call those, flip-flops

Multi tasking or getting old or both, don't like Keurig coffee machines and I drink day old coffee from a pot without apprehension. Anyways grabbed a cup, put in microwave forgot to fill cup with coffee.

I can remember PAY PHONES ON THE INTERSTATE..
Mom broke down once and sent ME walking until I found one.. she gave me A DIME to phone home to get DAD to come get us..
The pay phone didn’t work properly so I walked back to the car..
Mom gave me ANOTHER DIME and told me to “go back, call the operator and tell her what happened and it took your dime..”
I did.. and the operator connected the call.. Dad came and got us.. AND.. a few WEEKS LATER I got a letter addressed to me..pre-teen.. It was a letter from MaBell.. a check for 10 CENTS.!!!

I remember pay phones in the 50's where you could bypass paying by using a piece of wire (bobbi pin), insert it in the speaker holes to make contact with metal and scratch it on a metal ground. After a second or two, you would get a dial tone and be able to make your call.
