I 'm looking to buy a YM1401. The guy has it for sale at $4500 w/ 4' plow and scraper blade. Is this a reasonable price and would this tractor work to do?
1- grade +/-275' of limestone drive
2-- spread several loads of top soil around house.
3-- power a finishing mower for 1.25 acres.

Any advice or suggestions would be helpful.

Haven't seen unit yet. Said he bought it 1 to 2 years ago for deer food plot and got out of hunting club.

That's outrageously high. Same model, ROPS, OR clutch, warranty, etc. for less money here...with a grader blade. I don't know what you mean by "4' plow".
1. slowly and not well
2. slowly and not well
3. yes

The plow is a 4foot disc type plow. If this is high ,what would be reasonable.
What size tractor would you recommend for the above tasks.

I think you are gonna need a little bigger tractor.

I have a 1401D (4WD).

I got it for $2500, and this included a tiller, bush hog, carryall, electric sprayer, and a dirt scoop along with manuals for everything. Hope that helps, but I would advise you to look at something a little bigger. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I bought the tractor for 4500. Sorry I omited a part'
This is tractor, 4' scraper blade, 4' disc plow, draw bar, & 16; tandem trailer w/ ramps and tool box.
Worked tractor +/- 8 hours yesterday moving 3 loads of clay dirt. May have been faster with bigger tractor but got it done.

From here out life will be easier for the little tractor.

Welcome to the Yanmar club! You're going to enjoy that tractor. And you hit the nail on the head. It will do what you need, just take your time.

Don't second guess the price you paid. Whether its fair or not you'll get many opinions. It's behind you now and no changing it regardless.

Please post some photos. :)

Welcome to TBN and the world of Yanmar. I considered a 1401 for a while before deciding that I wanted the powershift of the 1510D. They are great little tractors and have many advantages over their larger cousins!!;)

I think that you got good value for your money. The trailer adds a lot if you need one. Post some pics and show us what you are doing with her.

Welcome Popcubed! You are going to love that thing.

Mike, what is the difference in size between 1401/1510? Is 1610 larger yet?

Welcome Popcubed, It should do anything you need. As you said, It will just take a little longer. One advantage to that is more seat time.
