Yanmar YB201

hi , i have a yanmar YB201 . it has a startup problem. the engine starts very badly I am obliged to use the start pilot . hot engine if I let it stand for 10 minutes will not boot I have to use start pilot.
I don t have the manual for this engine (3T84) somebody could provide it?
I would check the pump timing.

Have you performed routine operator maintenance, fuel, air filters? Fuel pumps don't get out of time unless they have been removed and shims removed or added. Is battery fully charged?

Does the engine have much blowby? Is it strong running when cranked? Any smoke of what color? Does it have a compression release?

yes i have performed routine operator maintenance , the battery is ok.
When the motor starts with start pilote ,after it runs well.
When it doesn't wan't to start he have white smoke .
I don't know for the compression

All a diesel has is fuel, air, (intake and exhaust), and compression, assuming proper cranking speed. Only on-site troubleshooting can determine which is causing the problem. Valve adj. ok? Exhaust not plugged? water/air in fuel, good compression, about 500psi, (or eq. for your country)?

Probably about .008" but that is only a guess. Pretty sure Danny Parker with Parker Equipment (Untitled) has that information. Here is a guide on setting valves. Yanmar Tractor Valve Setting

If you want to know how many shims to use when installing the pump you would need to buy a manual.

Have you had the pump off? If not, your timing should not be off. If so, put it back with the same shims.
