A friend of mine recently gave me a Yanmar YKT40 tiller that needed a new chain (was missing it entirely). Nonetheless I have a new chain waiting to go on it. Now fast forward a few days..
I was on a jobsite and noticed this Kobashi tiller near where I was working. What’s interesting is it is identical to the Yanmar YKT series tiller.
Now here’s my suspicion:
Y - Yanmar
K - Kobashi
T - Tiller
Kobashi still exists and sells tillers but it appears that their main focus is the Japanese market. My hope is that discovering this link could be valuable for parts resources or even if new isn’t available having another option for used parts.
My other hope is that this thread can be added to with info about the other US market tillers Yanmar sold but for now I’ll start it off with what I currently know.
