x1.45c alternator issues

hi i have a 2018 x1.45c McCormick the alternator **** to to bed dealer says it will be 1200 and change. but that alot of guys swap them out. just wondering if any one has done this ? it has 2 wire plug and a spade along with the battery lug. if it fits and bolts up i can change wire ends looks like this one i see them on amazon but not 100 percent it will fit and will it last

i could get away with a voltage regulator but i can not find one tried everywhere

On the OEM alternator, one of the wires on the plug is a signal from the ignition. The other is for the charging light. Then, depending on the model, there is a single separate brown wire, that is the signal for the tachometer.

The tachometer receives this signal to count RPM but also to signal the hourmeter to start adding hours.

Might go though YOUTUBE as there is maybe 20 different way to hook up a "aftermarket" alternator.... NOt for actual method, but for understand of the concept ..... We laugh at YT but it can be a great resource/teacher if you use it correctly....

Do you have any idea what is wrong with your existing alternator? If you have a local shop that specializes in starters and alternators it could be worth your while to have it checked out. They can probably even source and equivalent alternator for far less than $1200. It may be a McCormick tractor but rest assured they did not build the alternator and they get a terrific mark up on replacement parts.

As this McCormick X1.45c was built by Branson and also sold as Branson 4520c, you could also look into Branson direction. There was at least one similar issue already on TBN --> Alternator?

i was looking for anyone that found aftermarket one that works i know what the wires are for. i know it is a branson 4520 i know it is the regulator. my problem is the only one i can find is on amazon shipped out of china. i see a bunch more but none have a pick of the back of it. i need the 3 wires plus battery lug. i read through the branson one it was beyond useless. warranty etc one alternator was talked about but no numbers. i spoke to 4 shops no one can get the parts or alternator. i was hoping for someone that has done it and the one they used. parts places don't stock a bunch nor will they open boxs all day to try to match it up.

Most popular one I know of is a GM 100amp single wire.... How are you searching for alternator, I do a search and come up with a dozen sites and 50 different alternator and some from China, some not....
